Just a idea, I think it would be usefull to have a sub forum dedicate to MP strategy articles.

If new players, or SP players switching to MP want to learn about MP, they have to look at all the post in MP forum. And they don't want to read the NQ vs leagues article, or the article about people lokking for game etc...

I would be glad to help doing the selection between all the articles.

Thank you

The MP forum is currently pretty silent, and i don't think adding another subforum will do anything good for the activity.

And we all know why that is. I am quoting you as a poster, not as a mod.

If being a mod gives you 100% immunity when you post as a poster as well then I may be done with this site.

I agree with Uigaw here.

The new MP forum rules haven't exactly been helpful when aiming to grow the MP community.

I agree that all the NQ vs League thread are counter-productive and not desirable for anyone, but we still feel Civfanatics should rethink the wisdom of its current MP forum rules.

I believe all MP civplayers would benefit from a more active MP forum here on Civfanatics - the must trusted name in civ :):king::rolleyes:

Been a while since I've seen ya around Donnie boy, but I have to slightly disagree with you.

I found that those NQ vs League threads sereved a wonderful purpose to promote the multiple ways to find a Civ game. Did the posts maybe get out of control? Yes, but that came down to a small number of people / person taking themself way too seriously.

At one point I believe a star was taken away due to this, but the action would not have been seen here only in the lobbies.

I really feel the majority of both sides agree that each type of game can be fun on occassion.

Anyways my 2 cents!

A MP sub forum could possibly spark more interest as long as it wasn't dominated by one group or another and all ways to play the game were spoken for. The problem I see is some people who take themselves / the game to seriously will act out like the are the only one who is right.

The reason i've not been around lately is because my comp needed repairs. SHould get it back soon I hope :(

Nothing against CFC at all, but I always thought that discussing MP issues here was the wrong place. Civplayers has a perfectly usable forum and is the logical place to talk about MP centric strategy and any other MP topic. Our forums are open to everyone, and we don't tend to moderate very heavily at all. All the fan sites have their strengths and weaknesses, I would certainly come to CFC for SP and Modding info, but there are better places to talk about MP, IMHO.

We'd love to have multiplayer specific strategy articles in the War Academy, and anyone who feels up to the task is quite welcome to try their hand at writing one. :)

What about softening up the rules on MP forums as well?

Back to the old days :)

So moderators. What about an answer? Please. I firmly believe that the "old rules" were really good for recruiting new MP players. As the_J stated himself: There is not alot of action on the MP forum these days (paraphrase)"

If both Civleague and NQ promise to keep a nice tone and end all the condescending remarks, what harm could it do?

It would surely be a nice christmas present from CFC to the MP community!!? (I reckon some CivPlayers would like the same, right?):rolleyes:

If we then manage to get more people interested in playing multiplayer, thus generating more action on the MP forum, a strategy sub-forum would definitely be good.

I dont know what rules are currently hurting the community? Besides having to be careful what we say to the mods or others. Just pretend you are living in China/North Korea etc.
