Can you guys point me in the right direction to a free program that will convert WMA into MP3?
I dont what you to tell me that other forms of music compressions are better, my mp3 player plays just that mp3's. Also the program does have to be free or with at least a sizeable free use periord. It would also help if it could convert multiple files in one go.

Thanks

thanks thats great, but as i am a cheapskate if you can recermend a total free one as well that would be even beter

it's not proteccted files do that program doesnt do what i need it to, i just need to convert WMA to Mp3 to let it be played on my mp3 player

thats great thanks , the only small problem is that it's not free. But i think it will d do thanks

Yeh the program it's self is free but i need to convert to mp3's which is an appon which you have to pay for after the trail period, iand i have allready used it before so the trail has run out.

Along the same lines, I'm looking for an app that will rip regular (non-copyprotected) commercial audio CDs (.cda format, I think it is) to mp3 format so I can play them from my PCs and mp3 player. The latest version of Nero (6.2?) either doesn't or I haven't figured out how to yet.

I'm willing to pay money for it, I just don't want one that is phoning home all the frackin time or one that takes over all multimedia duties on a PC and starts enforcing DRM content licensing without asking.

I usually just use Musicmatch it records regular CD's like a charm.

AudioGrabber is freeware to rip CD's, based on Audio Catalyst (same coder) its the best one I found, remember to grab the LAME codec for best results. Not sure if it converts WMA's to MP3's but can check that out as well.

Awesome, thank you both. :)
