It's because the Honor policy tree reflects your focus on organized military, which unsurprisingly grants you an advantage against the unorganized barbarian hordes.
I read through this post, and MrGameTheory got trashed by many posters calling him a troll, asking what his anti-Civ 5 agenda is, and a bunch of other worthless trash, yet he is ranked #1 and has been ranked #1. He obviously knows the game quite well, and backs it up. All those other people should be ashamed of themselves.
I never questioned that he was a good player, CivRev proves that. I still question his originally suggested strategy and feel he could handle himself more appropriately here. That's entirely different. That's why I asked if he's actually using his turtle strategy. It seems the most exploitative strategy is just horsemen these days.
