I know Fairies are declined by Kael, because he wants nothing that could be as a poster in a little girl's sleeping room, which I understand very good. But has anyone of you played Magic the Gathering during the Lorwyn/Shadowmore block? These are the Faeries I have actually in mind. They are quite creepy and fit very well a dark Fantasy setting. You could give all their units the "light" improvement, which would reflect on the one hand that they are flying (but they shouldn't have flying, because I cannot imagine a faerie flying across the ocean) and on the other hand that they are rather fragile (the -20% strength you get by flying).
They don't have to be an independent civilization (though the Oona picture from MTG artwork would be fantastic), but they could be the recon line of some evil civilization (because they are the born rogues).

This has been brought up before i believe.

Yes, someone mentioned about this in Kuriotates recon line topic, but ferret-man won the battle (ferrets are the best ;) ).

I always was of the opinion that the role of nasty tricksy non-princess rule faeries is adequately filled by the Svartalfar.

Agreed.

'We'll have sex with you, but then we'll jus as happily kill you' is the Svartalfar's role. Ya dig?

NO FAIRIES, OK?!!!
