I don't even remember how many disks civ1 was on on my old Amiga 500, come to think of it, maybe just 1 or 2

Having two cd's like Thunderfall said (one installation, and one play-cd) does have one advantage: it will certainly be harder to crack. I mean: the very day Red Alert 2 came out, people downloaded it from the internet at the university I'm on. That'll be harder, when there are 2 cd's.

And it might have another advantage: you could install it on a computer and without the play-cd, you'll only be able to join a multiplayer game.

$150 is about $149 more than I can afford to spend upgrading my computer just to play a game, even if it is Civilization. Or were you offering to buy it for me?

You're right about that. (almost) No one will upgrade his computer for one single game, except highly fanatics (I believe there are a few around here

). Anyway, I won't.

I think the idea using 2 cd's is great!

On CD 1 you have all the files which must be installed on the Harddisk very (and I mean) very compressed (that is possible nowadays), and then you can have all the multimedia on CD 2 (wonder movies etc.) Even Civ III will use 5 CD's I would'nt bother,

Baldur's Gate (the first) had 5 CD's and it did not disturp the game.

But as I said before. It would be great, if it was 2 CD's - One INSTALL CD, and the other would be a PLAY CD!

Like the WarCraft 2 spawn. It makes alot of sense to me, but I believe it will be 1 disk.

I don't know..i think it might be on multiple CD's, it all depends on the detail and depth of the game. If they incorporate all the improvment's that we have all dicussed it we'll be very complex.

I can imagine 3 or more CD's, but what does it matter, my computer has got plenty of space..as long as you only need one CD to play it (i hate it when you have to "insert CD").
