Hello everybody
Is it possible to import some multi-figures units with our Mac.OS supposing that we have an useful version of the editor?
If yes:) how?
Thank you smart people.

Mike,

Are you talking about just using MF units in place of the standard civ3 units (archer, warrior, etc)?

If so, just download the MF units, unzip, and drag them to Art/units/ in your Civ3 directory (backup the original units first!)

I've been playing my first game with MF units, it's great! Although a little intimidating when enemy armies start marching on your capital -- so many of them!

If you're talking about replacing standard units with fan-created units, someone else needs to help you out.

Very good advice. After some time, I grew tired of the cluttering caused by the multi-units and re-installed the standard ones.

You can experiment with the Multifigure units totally without accessing the editor.

All you need to undestand is how the unit naming folders work and how the pointers in the xxxxxx.ini file work and then you can easily keep both version on your computer and switch back and forth as you may desire.

The multifigure units have some splash value in the game but they can have a negative effect of the game if overused. One of the best uses is to selectively use them for UUs for different civilizations and them to selectively use them for units where formation combat has a defined role in the game.

The biggest problem with the mutifigure units is that the Civ3 game engine does not know how to conduct combat in formations. A Stack of Doom (SoD) with 20 swordsmen and spearmen in it, just looks like a big, goofy, repetiticious, pile of of blocky units flopping around when what you really might to see is a big impressive and threatening wall of units that would defned or attack in a classic style. You might want to see a wall of pikemen out in front of cities defneding against waves of onrushing knights, but even whith m-units installed in the game this will not be the effect that you see because the game will just ignore the concepts and play the same old way that it always has.

Thanks a lot, Sirrodivad. Great!. It works and it looks just like figurines, that's what I want. But...a little encumbered isn't it?

Cracker, y're probably right, but so far I'll just look at my crowded little people!

In order to replace the Barbarbarian Units by Barbarians MF units could you tell me where I 'll find the file I have to change. It is not in the art/units one.
Thanks.
