Simple enough question...

Does Civ 5 have Multi-monitor support of any kind?

If it does, what kind of support? Civ 4's multi-monitor support wasn't very good, it merely allowed me to stretch the image across two screens, which really doesn't add anything to the game, and in fact, makes it worse than single-screen.

The kind of support that would be very cool to have would be something to the tune of:
Civlopedia on one screen, regular game screen on one screen
Strategic view on one screen, regular game screen on another
Advisor window open on one screen, regular game on another.

any number of other possibilities for this.

Yeah you can play the game with multiple monitors, though I have absoultely no idea why you would want too, whats wrong with one monitor, that's something I have never got.

Could you use screens for specific things, no idea, probably not.

Nothing is wrong with one monitor. I'm not looking for a great advantage, but I find the monitor on the side for added information somewhat useful. It's nice to be able to have the Civlopedia open on the right while I am still looking over the battlefield on the left. Just a personal preference.

Have to agree that a 'nice-to-have' would be floating separate windows (teh Civilopedia, for example). But, I see how that could take away from the single-screen experience, especially if the GUI is all layed out for single screen...

But dual monitors are nice in a few situations, not so useful in others. Good for "real" multitasking- keeping up with a fantasy football league on Sundays and playing Civ, it can't be beat...

Multimonitors would be the sex. I was hoping after SupCom used it (awesome) it would be used more often in games. Sadly, not. (I mean, who seriously hasn't got some sort of second monitor sitting around somewhere?)

I've got one, but why would I want to use more than 1, my eyesight only goes so far, and I'd rather not have to turn my head from side to side to play Civ ^>^.

it would be handy to have the strategic view always on over on the other monitor ... other than that i cant see much point

News to me, there wasn't an option in the press build. Perhaps after some config file tweaking you could make it work somehow, not sure.

nothing wrong with one monitor, but two is at least twice as good (thats just basic math). it really would be nice to have the option of having an alternate view on the 2nd monitor, either of a zoomed out worldmap, or the various information pages. heck, even just being able to have the civilopedia open over there would be very usefull.

shouldn't be anything that gives people with 2 monitors an advantage, just some nice quality of life things that can be done with double the viewing area.

Would be interesting if you could have the second monitor have the exact same view as the first one... but in strategic mode. That way if you are looking at a particularly busy area of screen, you can look at it from both points of view...
It isn't NECESSARY, but it would be fun, and there is no DOWNSIDE to having such a feature... Just comes down to the time and effort it would take to implement it and whether it would be worth it or not.

Two monitors in Supreme Commander were just awesome: Close up view on one monitor and strategic battlefield map on the others.

It allws you to check stuff in the other view without losing focus on the primary one.

i would go as far to say it was a necessity in SC

Dual monitor support would be great if...when in diplomacy with a full screen leader head the other screen allowed for interaction with the map and your advisors.

I play civ4 with 2 monitors.. one has the game.. other has some series running or web browser for those long multiplayer turns :P

We have Steam overlay for that now :)

I already have 2x 24" monitor (planning to add 3rd next year) and it would be great if Civ5 supported such setups.

I use three monitors. The center one is my main display and the two side monitors are turned 90 degrees to make reading very easy on the eyes. I have a bug with Civ5. The horizontial map scroll with three monitors does not work. the mouse just exits the map area onto the desktop in full screen mode. I am looking through the ini's for a setting hopefully. However 2k asked for the dxdiags for 32 and 64 bit. So, I am assuming it is supposed to work and just isn't.

It works worse than civ4 with multiple monitors, since scrolling is screwed in the direction of the other monitor

This could be troubling since I use 3 monitors. Does that mean that it will be difficult for me to scroll on both sides?

I wonder what would happen if I enabled eyefinity to make one giant 5040 x 1050 screen. Has anyone tried that yet?

At the moment, my Multi-monitor setup makes scrolling with the mouse impossible. Is there a fix to this anywhere? Any 2K support would be greatly appreaciated
