Multi-session G&K game (GMT+12 @ 8PM)

Now I'm just bracing for the oncoming horde because I still belive the germans have to pass through me to get to Maya and Celtic lands.

Germans have no confidence to launch spaceship fast enough given the current tech rate. Maybe a little distraction is needed to drag the Celts and Maya into military competition.

The Celts are the North Korean pariah of this game. We may not have the production, technology or people (didn't help that we lost two wonders on the same turn to the Germans), but we've got the bomb M*F*. Come after us if you dare.

We have ceded the Oranges to the Mayans in order to preserve peace, but as we have no chance at victory, we the Celtic North Korean rogue state would be willing to start wars of liberation for certain bribes *cough* food and energy aid to our impoverished state.

The Ethiopians have lagged behind in tech and is more than 1-2% after, and thats even with the tech from all city states I've met. Well, exept Zürich. They are still under german control. For now. I fully expect the mayans to get to space first.

Might make a mad dash for diplo win but german cash reserves might disrupt it. Very uncertain path to take. I'll probably just sit and watch the world crumble around me, hoping I'm not big enough to bother with. I want to see what happens in the end. :)

The Great Pacal appreciates your wisdom in this matter.

Who are you looking to liberate? The Japanese? Some CS? Let's talk. ;)

The Ethiopians are, and always will be faithful trade partners with the North Celteans even from the dawn of time when we surrendered a perfect second city site to Cardiff. We later learned that this was very close to celtic main and so it was the right choice to make.
I still get to force him to build roads an extra 2-3 tiles because of culture and that makes me feel a little better.

Some military secrets may have been exchanged against Germany. Bismarck can sense his people's urge to go fascism and even his great leadership can't stop Hitler from taking control of his office. German people are not happy about the tech leader position is insecured to warrant peaceful launch of spaceship. We can only hope Berlin will not be divided by the ally again

The North Celtians are happy to liberate any cities under the oppressive thumb of their foreign rulers. It appears that the German fascists are about to take power and we may have much in common with the Prussia empire as we greatly admire Fredriech.

Well, this does not sound good for Ethiopia if they have taken over some CS. We Maya are not occupiers; all our fine cities are homegrown: our ancient core, and the seven additional cities settled during the Great Expansion.

We remain puzzled by your comment, however--perhaps it is a fine point of German history that eludes us: how can you greatly admire the Germans, and also seek to liberate cities, when the Germans occupy more foreign cities than any empire in this world? Perhaps it is a factional thing...

Edit: or maybe I'm just ignorant and not paying attention. Prussia is not Germany, and perhaps they put up fierce resistance to them.

Sunday should be fine, but a shorter session, two hours max.

(I was seriously grumpy on Sunday last weekend.)

We did not play last Sunday, so I assume we are not the reason for your grumpines.

Four hours indeed did take us into the wee hours of Sunday 'morning', meaning a short sleep of about five hours. The kids almost always wake around six.:mad::sad:

Four hours took me into the middle of the morning in that session where I promptly went and fell off a few cliffs I was attempting to climb. Fortunately my rope was stronger than my willpower and I live to fight in civ another day!

I'm almost certain this game will finish in that time frame unless it devolves into a nuclear holocaust.

I dunno, if there's any war, it will slow the turns. We took four hours to play 100 turns last time, and there are potentially 100 more to go, though it probably won't take that long. My guess is two more sessions, unless there's a concession. That's my impression, anyway. :D

As there is no nonnuclear proliferation treaty any war will devolve into the logically conclusive nuclear holocaust referenced above. If minor skirmishes but no wars happen, then a space or diplomatic victory will happen in under 100 turns (on quick).
