Multi-session G&K game (GMT+12 @ 8PM)

Losing is the best way to learn!

It was actually the fleet fleet that got me. His battleships were hard and I didnt focus on attacks from the sea. I guess thats why he built them in the first place. :)

Yes, well done. I wouldn't feel too bad about this game--the general shape of it was fairly predictable after Germany overran Japan. Once one civ effectively owns two, if no one steps up to challenge that early, it tends to snowball.

Pacal is still waiting for the end of the next Long Count, though. :D

So, you're not done then? If not then you can continue during the week if you like. I dont have to be there anymore. :)

Islandia said the same thing, he's conceded after having three of his cities nuked (that's about half of them).

E, any particular day good for you this week? Is thinks we can just kick him in setup and load up with him as an AI. If so, this would be a big improvement in G&K.

Sure, flexible here. We can finish any day during the weekdays, so we can start a new one in the weekends:D

Yes no point in prolonging it only to be a kingmaker. I can sneak one nuclear sub to Berlin with a nuclear missile but that will not win the celts the war.

...give peace a chance!

Great, I don't know if Oxslow is following this thread, but Heinage does follow. So we will have at least 6 players next game if Jake is around. Shall we discuss settings? I want to try the celts for a cultural win, so please do not kill me (but I will try to defend) I will leave you guys pursuing any victory before I finish culture.:p

Cool, yes I'm in for some games in the evenings.
Regarding settings, I'll leave that up to the multiplayer pros.
On single player I always do epic/large or marathon/huge, otherwise I feel like I can't use units before they go obsolete, but I understand MP people do things differently (which I understand).

Its on Quick unless you'd like to play for the next 3 months haha. And i'll be around lmk what day we're doing.

I think you'd have a better chance to pull this off if you didn't announce it first. :p

I won a pitboss civ 4 game with culture once. I was pretty pleased, though if I remember right, I allied with someone, and because of that he shared the victory. Who knew?

I remember when I first got into this series, they played on standard speed, which takes 3 sessions to get to the end. But if aggression is limited, peaceful game will take about 4-5 sessions in standard speed I guess. With more players, standard speed may be more interesting for more 'actions', I think we dropped to quick when fewer players around somehow.

I will try to ally someone in the game who wants to go science or diplomatic win, I will vote him in that case and try to donate military units in times of war. Time for some change from my side before I got banned for my ruthless aggression :p

I guess you tried to build units after researching the technology? In SP you can sell lux to AI for timing upgrade. In MP, based on the CivBuilder's video thàt I watched in youtube, try to preserve cash for upgrade, unless it's wheat, deer in the capital 3rd ring or the only iron deposit close by, don't buy land tile (settle lux within 2 rings or on top of the lux). And protect your worker and settler well in the beginning (quote from that video) :D

Hey guys, haven't been very active recently, especially not on these forums. Been really busy with the last days of my holiday, but now it's coming to an end soon, about next week or so. Just wanted to shout out! And possibly reserve a spot for the next game in line. :D

Carry on.

Good to see you Zalta. Shall we start new next or finish the old game then? It's been a while from that game.

Pretty sure he will want to start new. He's in last place and dying a slow death in that one :)

Ah yes. A position I fear I'll be very familiar with after a few games with you guys.

Thanks for the tips above, EEE_boy (am I pronouncing that right?)
