Multi-tile Natural Wonders

While i appreciate adding new natural wonders i am kinda bummed by removal of Fuji, Sri Pada and Krakatoa. Especially Fuji. Iconic, famous and beautiful mountain gave way for big ass swamp in South America and relatively obscure British shore. I am sorry if i am not exited

More natural wonders could be added later with patches and mods. That's not something difficult. I'm a bit disappointed about lack of Baikal Lake, so surely hope for having more natural Wonders in the future.

When did he mention that? I haven't heard from him since "the incident" and I'm sure there were a couple of NWs added since then.

I'm excited to see more diverse wonders. I feel like there was way too much mountains and volcanoes in Civ5.

Yeah, I was surprised about that. 12 seemed like a low number. NWs seem like the kind of thing it's easy to have a lot of, it's ok if they're a little unbalanced.

But looking back at Civ 5 there weren't that many of them there either, according to the wiki there were only 7 on release and only 17 by the end. So I guess 12 in Civ 6 is quite reasonable, I was just hoping for more.

With natural wonders the more the merrier, don't see many downsides to hanging too much, it gives the map variety, they are a nice touch to earth maps, with random maps it's more exciting to see what wonders the map will bring, and they're easier to keep adding into the game than say leader-screens. Keep 'em coming Firaxis! :goodjob:

I believe the only possible downside is what many natural wonders look quite similar. You probably guess Everest from other mountains by its size, but smaller mountains will all look the same. If by the will of random you'll have 5-6 small mountain natural wonders, it will not look too good. Same for lakes, for example.

EDIT: I still think 12 is too small number, though. Something about 20 shouldn't be a problem and would give much more diversity.

Yeah if they keep adding mountains lol, but there are so many options:

•Soqotra or the Galápagos Islands: An island natural wonder
•Northern Lights: Imagine if they implemented this
•Vale of Kashmir, Swat Valley or Kalash Valley: Maybe you can settle on it?
•Giant's Causeway
•Port Jackson, Harbor of Rio de Jeneiro, San Francisico Bay, Ha Long Bay: Could give harbor districts bonuses
•Khyber Pass or the Bolan Pass: Allows you to traverse along a mountain range
•Mount Ararat: I think this was in a the Wonders of the Ancient World scenario though?

Edit: Basically there are a lot of nice options :crazyeye:

Northern lights would be pretty cool. Give bonus culture or faith to tundra tiles beneath them. Finally give a reason to settle at the poles

Yes, and it was a reused Mt. Fuji or something, so it kind proves the point that mountains end up looking quite similar to each other.

Wasn't Galápagos already in? Or was that a hoax?

We have seen something "island natural wonder' like which looks a lot like Galápagos, but no complete confimation

100% agreed.

Actually, what's so cool about Barringer crater? It's not the largest one, not the oldest one (as far as I know), there are a lot of craters on Earth and people even build cities on them (or in them?). Why this one?

I love, LOVE this new approach to world wonders. They seem to be more majestic and unique than ever, and a truthly prized zone for settling and disputing territory. Just like real life!

Also, I do hope that some civs such as Spain or Portugal have some crazy-ass natural wonder bonuses or UA related to them!

I know you're joking, but, interestingly, 1 in 12 is pretty close to Europe's percentage of the Earth's land area. So, if 1 in 12 sounds low to someone, it's because they are placing more value on European land (*or* that they're not considering land area at all).

You mean, just like the proportion of world recorded history VS European recorded history? ;p

I'm pretty shore (pun intended), the cliffs of Dover are in because of the new 'cliffs' mechanic and they thought.. "what cliffs do we know?".
The cliffs of Dover are pretty well known because of the World War Two song by Vera Lynn:

I would have preferred the cliffs at Étretat , because of the Monet painting, but I'm fine with Dover:

I believe that it's significance is that it is largely untouched by "decay" like erosion, so it is very important to scientists as they can study craters at their impact state

I would have liked the "cliffs of insanity". [emoji12]
