Multiplayer Tech-Cost-Multiplier?

Dunno if this has been covered yet, but is it possible that when playing in a team, the techs-costs arent doubled?
I see a roughly 1/6th increase (on monarch) between 2-player team and single player...
 
One can edit the multiplier within the XML files. I believe it is GlobalDefines.xml and listed under something like "TEAM_MODIFIER". I sometimes set it to 70-90% if playing a team game.

Just note that if you change this it does impact the Mercurians spawning. Previously it was set fairly high and actually bringing them into the word would result in your tech costs going through the roof. I usually remove them from the game if the setting is cranked up because the AI will still build the gate and destroy their own research potential.
 
What i mean is, usually when playing in team, the tech cost is adjusted (usually x2).
This doesnt appear to be the case here, making it ridiculously cheap to research when teamed up.

Is this intended or an oversight?
