I have been playing this game since it came out. I learn each time I play how to do something different, often better. My question surrounds various religions within one city, does it help/hinder or no bonus if say you have a Hindu Temple, a Jewish Temple and an Islamic Temple all in one city? Thanks for any guidance!

Benefit of each Temple is +1 happy and the Priest slot, although priest are generally not an optimal option for specialists. Temple of the AP religion give +2 hammers as well.

So additional temples certainly are not a hindrance. The question you have to ask at the time you build it is if you really need it. Ofc, Spiritual trait makes them very cheap so it's a cheap option for extra happy.

One important thing you will learn about Civ IV is you don't need to build everything. Only building most all cities every need is a granary.

Note that I edited the post above as I forgot to put in a "not" in the sentence about running priest specialists. That is, they are generally considered "not" optimal.

Why not, prophets are the best GP everrrr. They’re so useful for popping that 4th golden age which is so hard to do otherwise /s
