Music of Civ VI

What I am concerned about is if they are gonna replace Sogno Di Volare in the opening. I will miss Christopher Tin's music if they will replace it for R&F :(

That was a pain in Civ4, yes. Baba Yetu was a marvel.
On the other hand, Sogno Di Volare is a bit less great, so if Firaxis has proper replacement, I'm ok.

I agree that Babu Yetu has it beat by a landslide, but for some reason Sogno Di Volare isn't grating to me. In comparison the BNW theme I loved the first few times, but it became absolutely unbearable after a dozen or so repeats. I don't know what it is about songs that make them easily listenable-to, but Babu Yetu and Sogno Di Volare both had it, and that's probably one of my main hopes for the new theme.

I'd at least like hear the R&F theme in its entirety before mourning the loss of Sogno di volare...
Well, the music from the R&F announcement sounds good to me. At least compared to Terra Novum. I mean, as someone already said, it's good to hear for the few first time, but it can get really annoying. But you are right, Songo di Volare sounds really great, and I will be kinda missing that.

I wouldn't rule out that they've contracted Tin again. They have a bigger budget than they did for Civ4. ;)

Georgia First Listen up!

Georgia First Listen up!

I'm very pleased they have Georgian vocals. I was afraid it would be pure instrumental (not that it's bad). I felt chills all over my body hearing all different eras of "Shen Khar Venakhi" (Thou Art a Vineyard), hymn written by David the Builder i believe, and by Kavkasia Trio! (though they always go for local musicians or on east coast)

So Shen Khar Venakhi is the inspiration for the Georgian themes?

What a lovely set of themes! Very calming, and actually one of my favorites out of Rise and Fall so far. Oddly has a lot of Civ IV medieval flavor.

I listened to it, and I was astonished by how amazing it is. Especially the Industrial and Atomic versions. They are so beautiful!

Too bad we have to wait for them whole twenty-eight days to listen to them

those 28 days will pass by fast....:p

It's always longer when you wait for something you really wish :p

You are younger than me and still in High School, that's why it feels longer....:p

That could be probably the reason why :D

Btw. Before Georgia First Listen, I was pretty confident that the first theme I'm going to listen will be Mongolia. Now I can't decide between Georgia and Mongolia. They're both amazing pieces of music

I don't really like the earlier Georgian themes, they are a bit slow...:p And I'm not big on Christian chanting.....:pthough I did like the Chanting in Civ5 and Civ4's Byzantine themes.

I'm just very impressed with Industrial and Atomic versions (which also applies to the Cree and Mongolia :crazyeye:). Hearing them for the first time just made me stunned and amazed. That's just how much I like them. I hope Tamar will spawn often in my games :-)
