Muslims protest a positive depiction of their Prophet

Your point is...?

The quote in your sig says:"Any Muslim, in order to be a "true" Muslim (as defined by the Quran and Hadith), must be a fanatical infidel-killing machine. Most Muslims today are sensible, and have given up on most of the tenets of their religion. The few true believers out there have a nasty habit of crashing planes into big buildings."

According to you, this "is just very accurate description of Islam in its pure form". Very well.

So tell me then, how many times has those "true believers"
indulged in this "habit"?

"Habit of crashing planes into big buildings" is a euphemism for committing terrorist acts , and as Kashmir can testify , they have indulged in this habit a hell of a lot .

Ouch ouch ouch ouch:cringe: You realise that millions of Muslims would consider it their duty to kill you if you said such a thing in their presence?
Jeez, you'd think they'd be happy I was so curious about their religion.

Besides, it would be stupid of them to kill me while I was talking about Allah. Being that my last thoughts were of Him I would instantly be transported to paradise. ;)

As the author said, it is a metaphor, you don't need to take down a skyscraper, blowing yourself up in an israeli café is sufficient.

I doubt there are any official statistics, but from my observation, which could be, I admit that, a bit biased, there are much more terrorist acts commited by Muslims in the name of Islam, than terrorist acts commited by anybody else from different reasons. Before the rise of present-day islamism, there wasn't much of a religious terrorism. Most of the terrorist acts were commited in order to enforce some kind of a political goal.

The only thing that really astonishes me here is the defense of this. I think if crazed righ wing christian nuts banned a textbook in England or America you people would be pissed. It is so very amazin gthe extent that some wil go to defend this crap. Heck Europeans statisticaly hate muslims more than americans do, I bet this mild fanaticism is half the reason.

As for body counts I think Communists when out on that one. . . what are they up to 100 million?

I think the Islamics still win , with their killing of 80 million civilian Hindus for religious reasons during their rule over the Indian subcontinent .

Here you go. The pagan god Moloch was worshipped in Carthage, and Canaan before the Israelites came out of Egypt.

fair enough point taken, side points aside, I still think this whole thread is an attempt to garner some sort of reaction out of nothing. Or an excuse for people to claim Muslims are bad for banning books, a storm in a teacup.

Didn't Hitler burn books too, let's make a thread about how The Saudis are comparable to Hitler, at least it would be more amusing than this and less tortuous.

Organizations dedicated to Christian terrorism:

Nagaland Rebels: (1948–present) Active in predominantly Christian state in Hindu India. Involved in several bombings in 2004. Goal: Independence from Hindu India after annexing parts of neighboring Indian states and Burma if it has Christian majority.
The second Ku Klux Klan: while mainly concerned about race was excusivley Protestant and did target Catholics.
Army of God: Christian theocracy group that supports and involves itself in terrorist activity.
Lord's Resistance Army

Jewish

The following groups were all started or branched off from those started by Meir Kahane:

Jewish Defense League: A vigilante group based in the United States. Although several members have been charged or convicted with offenses related to the handling of explosives, the group is not thought to have any current connection to terrorism. [1]
Kach and Kahane Chai: Israel and United States. The Hatikva Center is a Kahane Chai front organization.[citation needed]
Gush Emunim Underground: Sometimes called the (Jewish Terror Organization), formed in 1979 by prominent members of Gush Emunim. Active until 1984. [2]

Sikh

Babbar Khalsa: (Based in Pakistan)- conducted the 1981 Indian Airlines hijacking.
ISYF: International Sikh Youth Federation banned by the United States and Canada but renamed Sikh Federation UK

The Black Tigers are believed to be the most effective unit of its kind in the world, as the rest of the LTTE it is also secular, not driven by religious fanaticism. The creation of the Black Tigers is based on the LTTE's studies of Asymmetric warfare; thus using suicide cadres balance the government's greater resources.

LTTE "Black Tigers Day" commemoration, 5 July 2004 in Nelliady, Jaffna, Sri LankaAfter their death the cadres families are cared for by the LTTE and the cadre's photo is listed in the "Black Tigers Day" commemoration. The extensive training of their suicide units separates the Black Tigers from other suicide bombers around the world.

Also I believe the Tamil Tigers have been responsible for more terroist attacks than anybody else.

Oh my goodness there not Irish?

When I read the article and saw that the 7 arrested are Muslims, I was beside myself with shock. I wasnt expecting that at all.

Me either. I mean, seriously? People who wanted to blow up the Sears Tower were followers of the Religion of Peace. *gasp*

Mabey we should waste a few million dollars for a Senate investigation of this matter... let's not forget the first class tickets and five star hotel rooms. Chances are it's just a one time thing though, right guys?

Haha, yea especially since from the indictment read on the news this morning they're charged with conspiracy to levy war against the US and thought they were talking to an Al-Qaeda representative and pledged their allegiance to them when it was really an FBI agent, but noooooo followers of Islam love us.

The Irish learned a long time ago that bombing civilian targets was a very bad idea. Islamofascists are to stupid to figure this out, but what do you expect from people who learn only one book in thier short lives, a book that is taught not by exploring its meaning but by repetedly reciting it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and. Its no wonder that muslims are upset about every tiny thing that can be constrewed as an afront to islam, they don't know any better.

Actually most fundemetalist terrorists are educated to a high level, usually university level, pig ignorant peasants couldn't give a monkeys about politics, too busy living hand to mouth.

For example: the London bombings were carried out exclusively by university students, teachers aids and generally middle class Muslims. English middle class not US middle class, denotes a sort of educated class who's kids are in turn well educated

I make no judgement of individual Muslims. Simply because they're Muslims doesn't mean their terrorists, or anything of that sort; that's not what I was implying. I was merely troubled that you seemed to give the historical violence of Islam a free pass, just because you thought Jews and Christians had acted worse.

That would break Godwin's Law. ;)
