Chapter One: The Beginnings of Man
It was a long and cold winter as el-Qwazeer stepped out of his hut and into the world. He stepped toward the Euphrates River where he sat down. He thought is was time to create a society that will spread into all of the known world.
He called for a meeting with the elders of the village, he said “It’s time for us to leave our nomadic life and into permanent citites!”
The elders thought and discussed about his idea and finally they said, “Sure, only if you create a civilization that will last the test of time.” El-Qwazeer jumped up and ran into the homes yelling, “if you want an adventurous life and not moving place to place, come with me!” Some men, women and children came out and followed him, to the river. There some masons and bronze workers the people had achieved while in the nomadic life. Then a young man headed toward el-Qwazeer, he was not strong and heavy he was just normal. But he was smart. Veeeery smart. He said to el-Qwazeer, “Who’s going to control the known world when we get powerful?” El-Qwazeer turned around and replied, “I don’t know. I’m not sure if we’re going to get that far.”
He ordered the men to start building houses and the women to start farming. Soon he had a town. The only thing missing was a large home the Sultan. He made the workers to start a palace for him. He thought he should rule since it was his idea. After 3 years, the palace was finished. He named the town ‘Istanbul’ for his uncle.
He wanted people to have a way of writing down communications. So he ordered the wise men to study ‘Alphabet’. Then some workers appointed by him, set off to the other side of the river to find a rich land with rocks. They called these rocks ‘shields’ due to their shape; they look like shields of a spearman.
A couple weeks later once the workers were there. They started to road this area to the city. Soon, people could come here and live here. Soon after, the workers were done. They wanted more of these ‘shields’ so they started to make a mine.
Istanbul, during that was making a regiment of warriors. These warriors were fearless and wander to the outsides of the world. The warriors ventured west to see if there was any land that was good. Later, el-Qwazeer wanted more to protect his marvelous city. So he got more men to join the regiments. The exploring warriors found some animals that feed them well and a river they called the Tigris. The sultan thought about sending people over there when the population gets too big.
The workers were done mining and thought the land was improved enough, so they went to another place were there were shields. The exploring warriors found more animals. They lived in the forest and could be hunted for food. Also they saw shiney rocks that they could wear. They sent messnagers to Istanbul and tell e-Qwazeer about it. When he saw these rocks, he was happy. He showed these rocks to the friends and they were amazed at these rocks. He issued a speech to tell everyone about a new chance to get adventure. But the bad part was not enough people could go for a successful settlement. Another regiment of warriors was made to protect Istanbul. He predicted the population wouldn’t grow enough to send people to the new city site. So he order more warriors to explore south.
The cities culture had grown so much, that it made the people go farther out. Meanwhile the warriors made on to the top of Mount Ararat. Where they could see the ocean and a tribe that didn’t want to expand like the Ottomans.

The exploring warriors on top of Mount Ararat could see a village sown on the coast. But they were not happy to see intruders in their lands. The Nubians sent untrained warriors out to fight the regiment. The warriors were positioned on the surrounding hills and coutryside looking for a way to attack.

One regiment of barbarian warriors tryed to attack but the good planning lead to a comanding victory. But the other two stood there, trying to find the perfect moment to strike. The first regiment worked on to the top of the Tarsus Mountians trying to get a defensive position.

Another Regiment of conscript warriors fought on the mountains. But the caulsulties were enormous: 75% lay wounded and another 20% died. the 1st regiment, still strong, mad its way down the steep mountains to Mesopatamia. Scouts said there were more lands south of Mesopatamia. And thats where they went.

Meanwhile... at the capital of Istanbul, el-Qwazeer made the 3rd regiment of warriors. "If we keep building warriors, we could rule the world!" he suggested.

But one of his advisors, the domestic advisor, said "We cant build more warriors without more settlers to make more cities!"

El-Qwazeer concured. He ordered that the next thing is a settler. It should be built when there is enough people to go. When the 3rd regiment was formed, the sultan ordered a settler to settle the unclaimed lands between the Nubians and them, in 'Mesopatamia' meaning 'plains of fertility' (you thought it meant 'between the rivers', right? ;))

The third regiment was sent ot explore the southern area of the known world. It found tall, steep, rugged mountains that they thought they wouldn't be able to pass. But they did. The crossing was hard and dangerous and they almost ran out of food. They found a large plateau containing nothing except
dangerous, steep cliffs and dry and cold conditions.

But after 3 years, they made it to a place called 'Anatolia'. It contained harsh conditions, no drinkable water and cold nights. The wind blew the sand and dust into the eyes of the tired regiment. They found hills and plains.

Back to the 1st regiment: they found tall grey animals with long teeth. They tried to kill one for food and found their tusks as a smooth and polished material they called ivory. Messangers sent the news back to el-Qwazeer which was happy with his shiney rocks. "Ooo, what do we have here? Feels smooth and looks shiney. I LOVE IT!!!" he exclaimed, "I love my life!".

Also the 1st found another village near the tusks. They thought they were going to be peaceful. But they didn't know.

The 3rd marched its way through Anatolia and found large trees and dry, grassy plains. They walked until saw an open expanse of land with the trees.

The 1st regiment went into a village and saw they were friendly farmers with some extra military. So they gave us the 4th regiment. The 4th went to kill the last barbarian from the battle of Nubia.

I've been reading it, I don't usually reply, just read, but as you want to know if anyone is I thought I'd reply. Good story so far, though its very early on, I mean you haven't even built your second city yet, but I am interested to see how it goes.

good story :goodjob: :goodjob:

you did a nice job on the screenshots AND you actually wrote something.

when people put down a screenshot, and write three words under it, it gets REALLY boring.

nice story madviking. with that ivory you'll have the statue of zeus (a huge advantage)

2 questions. whats your science at
and why didnt you move one SW then you wouldve had the river and the water.

Own- The sea wont make a difference. But it might add commerace.
Coolio- its at 90, and yes, the ToZ would be nice for my first conquest of the first civ.

The exploring warriors (3rd) were tired when there to the plains beyond Anatolia. They saw large tall mountains to their east. They did not want to climb more mountains like before Anatolia. So they'll go SE.

The 4th were going to kill the last of the barbarian scum and they encounter at the battle of Nubia. This will make it safe for the colonists moving from the densly populated Istanbul, the colonist are expected to leave in 5 years and move to Mesopatamia. Meanwhile the third were finding more tusks that the Sultan loved as much as the shiney stones. They only found more tusks and fish, a delicacy that the Sultan would love.

Also, the 4th found the last regiment of Nubian warriors protecting the shiney stones. The 4th expected to end the 'stone-hoging people's' life. But the poorly train fouth were not sure if they could win this battle.

The 3rd found orange borders (English probably) to the SE. Maybe their move to the SE was a good idea.

The group of colonists leaving Istanbul were ready to head for the new city site. This would mean a bigger population of the empire. The sultan wanted to train his troops to be better. So the ordered the construction of barracks there. He also predicted that the population would grow enough to send more settlers. The settlers will move once they here of good news from the fourth.

MEANWHILE... the fourth were getting ready for their fight for clearence. The barbarian scum moved onto the plains which made them a simple target to kill. "READY!!" yelled the officer. And with a giant yell, the regiment chaged in on the scum. They caught the barbarians of gaurd and they suffered a tremendous loss of life. The fourth was still OK and sent scouts to Istanbul. The settlers moved across the Euphrates and close to Mesopatamia.

The 3rd was ready to meet the English (or whoever) but they saw hills. Not the kind like at Anatolia, smaller. They didn't fear the small, insignificant hills. They dicided to rest before the crossing of the hills.

(The 1st regiment moved around the Cote' D'Ivoir.)

The 3rd meet the English. Their leader was Elizibeth the Great. The was clad in a white robe and in a structure with collumns. Her people have discovered Alphabet which the Otttoman scientists are trying to discover. We offered her masonry for CB and Pottery. She wont accept it. But she will give CB, 10 gold and alphabet for masonry. We accepted it.

(couple of turns pass...) "ALL TO THE TREE!! EVERYONE SHALL BUILD SHELTERS ON THEIR PROPERTY WITH THE TREES FROM THE FOREST!!" shouted el-Kawaba, the mayor of the town Edrine. He would want ot make Edrine a town to compeat with Istanbul for culture. It started to make a granery and the 1st regiment warriors would serve as temperarry gaurds. Soon Edrine was a large city with a granery being built.

are you gonna let edrine expand and take the cow or are you gonna put another city to take advantage of it?

Good story, keep it up. :D These things become awesome once you're late in the game. Is el' Qwazeer going to live forever? Or are you going to have him die of old age and be replaced by a younger king? It might make the story more interesting. I'll keep reading if you keep posting.

Sorry Guys, this is going to be super short part of a chapter, more noon tomarow. (i fell like crap :( )

El-Qwazeer again was happy at the succesful founding of Edrine. The stagigic planing of the architects made edrine in a very nifty spot: two sources of shiney stones, animals and cows. Yet el-Qwazeer was still not satisfied. There is still a heck lot of land still left to settle. So he made plans for another city in the region of the tusks.

MEANWHILE... the 3rd were thinking what was going on beyond the English. Hot intense conditions like in Anatolia? Viciously evil barbarians like at Nubia? Or English man-eating monsters? Who knows? The only way to find out is too explore there. So they heaed down the Scottish Highlands to the nearby English Swamps...
