This is my first unit using Poser, remember I ever did the aircraft Embraer Tucano of Brazil, but using other graphic softwares. I hope make more units and re-do this aircraft.
Special thanks for Dease, who helped me to correct my pallete errors, thank very much!!!

Heh. I like it! There are a few odditites, such as the club appearing to get bigger as it moves forward (unless I'm going crazy!) I think the default might give me a headache after a while as well.

Apart from that, good job :goodjob:

Animations seem a bit quick, and you'll want to turn off the isometric view (so his feet don't look so small and his club stays the same size); those aside, looks pretty cool :).

Hey looks cool. Yes there are some minor problems, but overall a good job :)

You might ask the poser guys here about advice, for example on the perspective (which leads currently to the impression that objects nearer to the cam "grow" in size when moving, for example in the attack anim).

Thanks folks!!!
How can add desable the isometric view in Poser 5?
The speedy of these animations are not the same in the game, there they are sloonwly.
This is my first one, I hope make more (and with less erros  )

thanks for enjoying again!!!

Very good fo a first unit! :goodjob: the walk is very realistic.

as others have mentioned there are a few "oddities" but I'm sure you'll refine your animations over time :)

Quickly looking at the download, it seems you've C&P'ed the firaxian sounds into your units folder, there are two disadvantages to this, first, I'm pretty sure it's illegal, and second, it takes longer for dial-upers to download.
it's much easier to link to the sound in the .ini.
For example, if you wanted to link to the warrior attack, then you'd put "..\warrior\WarriorAttackA.amb" and it'd use that sound dureing the game :D

Quite awesome... it's what I expected from you! Since I have no experience with Poser and biological unit making at all, there'll be no constructive criticism from me.
Anyway, I might use this fella as a warrior replacement for my African civs, in honor of the birthplace of Mankind!

To have isometric perspective (which is sometimes called a lack of perspective ;) ), just make sure the Focal Length of your rendering camera is 100 degrees or higher... actually it will be best if you just download Kinboat's setup for Poser. It would also make your shadows Civ3-like... current ones are fixed gray... which is not the way the should look.

Also the unit is a bit too big, and it "hangs in the air" in the death anim. Make much bigger frame size (like 130x130), this will ensure that there is space for normal death anim... The speed is way too slow too (in real flc, not on the preview). Always look at original Civ3 units to get the idea of how fast and how long the animation should be. The run animation looks best if it is 10 frames long and has speed of 65. It will also sync with the running sound properly.

:thanx: :thanx: :thanx: Thanks for the ellogies and tips, I hope use them in the next units, like the Tupi ones.

@odintheking: I hope re-do the Neanderthal leader, so, I'll be able to re-launch this civ, with this unit and the new leaderhead.

@embryodead: do u suggest any RBG number for to do the shadow? BTW, thank you very much by the tips, I'll use all them in my next units. Maybe the next one came with some errors, the unit Esqueleto Diabo, cos it is almost ready and I'm exciting to do the Tupi ones, that I hope do not have these errors.

@Dease: I have to reload all the files, without the sounds and just changind the paths in caveman.ini , thanks for the tip!

@all: THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Me make wheel out of dinosaur brain... and then me try to eat it because me still stupid. Me walk great distance, and then Me stop to go to bathroom instead of doing it while Me walk.

He is'nt in civ scale, isn't he? To me it looks a little large. May be too, you could add some lights or small reflections? Compared to other civ units, he is looking a way to dull, if you know what I mean.

RGB colour is not one fixed colour, it's gradient. It doesn't actually matter what will be the colour, as long as it will be unique and matching the 7th box in the palette, in the darkest shade. So if your shadow is #C0C0C0, it should be in the 7th box, with boxes 2-6 filled with gradual lighter colours up to #FF00FF (speaking in Photoshop "inverted" terms). Again, just download the Kinboat's setup from Tutorials section, it's really a great standard, most Poser units creators use this. Then look at his palettes and how shadows are placed there.

For the CIV3 land units, the primary color of the shadows is always palette index 249 (Kinboat's setup -> RGB: 174 0 174). If you use his setup, than set the poser shadow parameter at this: 0.631 for P4 render or 0.393 for Firefly.

Wow it seems you have analyzed my setup more than I have... I just trial and errored it until it looked half decent :D

I think everything has been said. The camera perspective is off... He could be lighter to show off more detail... and smaller, but then not too small. There have been some really impressivly sized hominids out there. Lucy was only 4 feet tall but there was one that lived around south asia around 8 feet if I'm remembering correctly.

Good for a first attempt and if you get the minor setup issues fixed and practice the animation you'll be really good.

If you want to see some bad first attempts take a look at my UFO or Squid units...
