Here is my game. i was just wondering wha i should do now after my long war with the Aztecs. Ideally i would like to focus on science and boots my gpt. So please any help would be much appreciated.

Nice map.

You've got an easily defensible choke point in which to keep the land armies at bay. Amphibious AI landings are weak at best, so I'd say you're in pretty good shape. You can't focus on science AND boost your gpt, unless you're getting sweet gpt deals from the AI for your techs. That isn't going to happen at this point of the game, a bit later, when the AIs have their infrastructure up and running.

You can trade chemistry for banking with the Babylonians. They're going to be your tech rival. Russia and Germany are too small and have no hope of expanding anytime soon. But, the Babs are doing well. Atm, they've not got any iron, or not linked anyway. Opportunity?

You do not have any facilities in a few of your native cities, and the captured Aztec cities are pretty sparse too. Get the Big 3 up and running: marketplaces, courthouses, and libraries. In the early game, these are very beneficial, at least when not aiming for a conquest victory.

Keep your army proportioned for potential threats: Babylon, to the east, should probably require the bulk of your offensive forces, and then some near the American and Iroquois cities, just in case an opportunity comes up for you to grab them.

I looked at the save and there is a lot to say.

Very good that you got rid of the Aztecs; now you nearly own your subcontinent. Regrettably, that is nearly the only positive aspect. ;)

There are a lot of things to improve in your gameplay and I will try to mention the important ones.

Strategy:
Set yourself a goal for say the next 30-50 turns. IMHO you have have 3 main alternatives:
  1. Be content with the share of the world you own and move on towards diplo or space win.
  2. Continue conquering the world; move towards military tradition while building knights for cav ugrades.
  3. I probably would conquer Germany and Russia: both are backwards and have lots of lovely luxuries. If you own their continent, you are set for the rest of the game.
Tactics:
Set yourself a goal for the next 10-20 turns. The area around your capital has the lowest corrution. But you failed to build cities southwest of Persepolis and you allowed the Americans to build Los Angeles and San Diego. These cities must be yours. Send some troops to defend the isthmus towards America, declare war and conquer LA and SD. After a few turns, Lincoln will be happy to agree to peace.

Improvements:
IMHO you have to improve on you builds. You have e.g. a courthouse in your capital, by definition the city with the lowest corruption in you civ. Wasted shields and upkeep.
Since you are not religious but scientific, temples are at this stage of the game IMHO mostly wasted money. Cathedrals much more so. For happiness (and income) build markets, for culture expansion (and research) build libraries and universities.
You cannot trade over seas, because you do not have a single harbor. Bad. Very bad.
Forbidden Palace: you do not have one. I would suggest to build it in Pasargadae (12 turns); if you get a Great Leader (e.g. while conquering Germay/Russia or America), you can ove your Palace and get a second productive core; in any case it will reduce corruption.
Arbela grows slow and does not need an aqueduct now, switch to market. I probably would switch Antioch to university. Persepolis needs a university asap. Switch Gordium to library.

Units:
IMHO you have way too many defensive units. Don't build muskets (you will get the money to upgrade pikes), build knights. You have way too few workers; it must have taken ages to improve your terrain. You have 2 sleeping workers: very very very bad: let them work.

Happiness:
You employ clowns in cities not needing them. Either you push cities into wltkd (no food shortage, no unhappiness) to boost production, or it doesn't matter to have some unhappy people as long as the city doesn't riot. You should immediately connect Tenochtitlan (use the sleeping workers) to get another luxury connected. Afterwards reduce lux.

Thannk you both for you detailed replies. And nice game by the way. Too bad i cant play like that! I think i have taken both if your posts into account, and so here is my game. I am wondering what is the best way to win. Thanks

The quickest ways to improve your game are to join in a Succession game, or to play along with the Games of the Month. Better yet submit entries GOTM. You get to compare your game with others in the spoilers and there are lots of good pieces of advice and discussion about the strategy and tactics. Now that the Quick Start Challenge is back in business you can also see how your critical early game development compares with the best (and less best) players in the world.
