Two weeks ago went to the doctor feeling like crap. First time in around 5 years.

Visit was $30 prescription was $3 in USD.

Had persistent cough for several months, feeling like crap overall. Got someone tests and booked in for monitoring in a couple of weeks. Might be high blood pressure.

Diet time we had been checking calories but not salt content. Wife had been doing yoga and had been buying a lot if heat and eat type meals loaded in salt.

Anyway we started checking salt content and yeah got a bit of a shock.

Reduded salt intake to less than 1500 milligrams of sodium a day. Alcohol consumption has also been cut drastically.

1. No pizza and other takeaways. Less dining out. Pizza wasn't a big sacrifice we only had it once a month. No more Indian.

2. Alcohol consumption cut. 1.8 litres of 4.6 % beer drunk in 2 weeks.

3. Home made bread. No salt and suger, wholemeal flour.

4. Oats with fruit and yoghurt for breakfast.

5. Peanut butter off the menu.

6. Salad eaten most days in low salt wraps and Naan bread.

7. Salt heavy seasoning goneburger. Using more paprika, garlic, lemon juice, chilli flakes, corriander, tumen for flavouring.

8. Minimal use of salt heavy seasoning. Mustard, spices, pepper used more.

9. More vegetarian meals/days.

So two weeks in feeling better. Not 100%.

Try fasting twice a week it will put your body into what is starvation mode and then you can easily switch diets
Been trying to cut down sugar as well, almost all from cola which is hard because its is so hot now in the summer time and buying a cold soft drink is becoming a habit.

I drink water and milk. Unsweetened coffee.

Today's sodium intake was 2 wraps at 200 milligrams each and whatever was in some hummus, sweet chilli sauce and aioli.

Breakfast was oats fruits yoghurt. Plain brown bread toasted for lunch with jam.

I marinaded chicken for 8 hours in smoked paprika, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and chilli flakes. Baked it, grilled the wraps and made a salad I enjoy.
