Name change

I didn't think I'd post in this thread since I assumed lots of people would be complementing you on your excellent new user name and my post would then effectively be "me2!".

Genuinely shocked this is not the case.

Cakes are awesome. They are also tasty and delicious. Great username. It's also a fairly unique username for this forum. Instantly recognizable. Further bonus points for that.

I don't think anyone is seriously scorning caketastydelish or whatever. But there was nothing wrong with oldschooler18 either.

I don't see the advantage. I was thrown by the mere change itself, as I get a fixed idea of a person (undoubtedly mistaken) from their username and other stuff.

I always assumed the "88" part meant you were born in 1988, since that's a pretty common pattern amongst forum names, and there's a lot of CFC members of about that age. Once you mentioned it being construed as neo-Nazi, it became obvious it could be interpreted as Heil Hitler... but I wouldn't have thought of it otherwise unless there were a 14 in your username, too. In all likelihood I would have thought of the Oldsmobile 88 first - that at least has the "Old" connection as well.

And thus, unfortunately, from now on I'll probably associate "caketastydelish" with neo-Nazis for the next year or so until I forget about it. Hopefully I won't also think of this when I eat tasty, delicious cake. Which sounds kind of yummy right now...

Generally though, I like having consistent names, since that's about the only thing I have to consistently identify who's who. I've been able to remember Blue Lion/Civinator since he uses both concurrently at different sites, but other switches I have more trouble remembering, especially shortly after they happen.
