Naming your cities

Updating my earlier post, after having beaten up and taken some Aztec cities, I am remaning captured cities on a regular basis, but so far, aside from trying to stay sort of within the civilization that I am playing, my small Oxford World Atlas is handy for this, I do not have a consistent naming convention. I do like some of the ideas presented earlier, especially those of CommandoBob and Cwogle.

I really like Cbob's use of xcity when he captures them. I never remember it in time. Maybe a nice xBerlin would enhance my map's appearance. :mischief::lol:

I like using the names of cities in my area, like Apeldoorn, Zutphen, Deventer, Arnhem, Nijmegen, etcetera. It's especially cool to see a little village like Warnsveld, Gorssel, Empe or Leuvenheim grow into a huge metropolis. :D

Colonies in the middle of the deserts you call "de Veluwe"?
Close to the border it become "Oldenzaal", "Beek" or "Venlo"?
:D:goodjob:

Yes, hehe! And Den Helder is always my big navy base and Borssele gets the nuclear plant and ICBM's. :D
