Napoleonic Wars II - Global

I downloaded the last one from 2/14. In my game I'm missing iron in the strategic box.

You don't need iron. If you check the editor, you will see that you only need two resources, lighthouse and homeland. If civilopedia shows iron as a required resource, then it is incorrect and needs to be fixed. The other possibility is that either your biq file or one of the game files is corrupt. I will send you the latest biq file and you can try that first as that is the easiest solution. I have not heard anyone else mention this problem, so as far as I know, no one else is experiencing this error.

HERE is the BIQ file

Let me know if it works or not.

Mod is awsome - I love this period of history but...
Merchant - for what is this unit? Or howto use it????
Whealer , some kind of boat- how to use it? Civ says that is for hunting some fish but how???
Colonies - why I havent connection with them? I have harbour and probably land road by friendly country but advisor says that unconnected cities
Maybe this questions are stupid or I am silly boy but you know :)

The merchant unit is a specialty unit which can be used to transport treasure or trade goods to the capital.

Whaler. This is a whaling vessel. This vessel is the only unit that can capture the Whale unit. The Whale unit is a Flag unit that can be captured and converted into gold for your treasury at any homeland port that has a victory marker. We are still waiting for TOM2050 to finish the Whale unit. Rather than remove the unit and reinstall when the Whale is completed we opted to leave it in and install an update with the whale unit at a later date. We did not anticipate the wait would be this long.

There is no sea or ocean trade routes. there are a number of improvements/buildings which can be built in the colonies which auto produce treasure and various trade goods which must be transported back to the Homeland capital or a port that has a VP marker
, where they can be converted to cash/gold which is added to your treasury.

Stupid? No Silly NO You are just new. I suggest that you read the entire thread. That way, you will probably have a better understanding of how the scenario works and will probably find answers ( complete answers ) to your questions. You might also want to read the complete thread for the Napoleonic Warriors thread in my signature below. There is a lot more information contained in there also.

Thanks for the answer :)
i have another question. You are a moder then you'll give me answer.
I have found on this website very interesting map of North America. How can I use it for your mod? Is it complicated for newbie to do this? Or is it on this web some guide how to use maps for mods or something like that?
Sorry if this question isn't suitable for this thread

Actually the answer to your question is a little complicated and complex. The best answer is for you to go the the tutorial forum of the main creation and customization forum which you will find here http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=57 .

In this forum you will find many threads that can provide you how to instructions.

If I DL the scenario from your site, does that include all the updates posted on page 1 of this thread, or do I still need to DL them seperately?

It looks amazing, btw

You will need updates 3, 4, & 5

As soon as we complete the final update with the expansion, we will post the final version DL link which will be all inclusive.

Cheers! I'll DL it as it is anyway and give it a shot:) I love the Napoleonic Wars and its nice to see someone making a dedicated scenario.

One question: does it take long to load? I have a fairly old computer so this is a concern for me; El Justo's AoI scenario takes forever to load on my pc:sad:

This is a huge epic scenario. It may indeed take a while to load. I have loaded it on my laptop in around 10min. Let me know how long it takes to load on your machine.

thanks, will do:)
It looks absolutely epic:goodjob:... fair play to Blue Monkey for posting about it on the homepage... that's how I found out about it

Just to ask, is the civilopedia complete? If someone is not working on it, I can help out and enter all the information for the units (hopefully each unit has it's own specific PRTO_ ;)). I did Rocoteh's WW2-Global pedia. The whole CoMM3 Civilopedia was done quickly, but I ended up scrapping the 104 Heroes of 7 levels each which was about 900 pedia entries I already did :). But it would be just for units, links to appropriate pedia sections (bombard, stealth, etc), etc. I can't enter background information since I don't know much about the specific era. Let me know.

If someone already working on it,.

Are you kidding !!!! That would be great !!! Superbounce was working on it but had to stop because of RL issues. If you can do that it would be a great help. I can do the unit descriptions, so that's not a problem. Yeah, I would really appreciate it if you could do that. Let me know if you have any questions regarding any of the units or if you encounter some anomaly.

thanks, will do:)

Glad to have you aboard. Hope you enjoy it. If you have any questions, just post them here.

Okay, there are units in the BIQ that have the same PRTO_ name. In these cases, because the units are different, the game sometimes the game brings the right one up, and sometimes it doesn't. If you can give those units their own distinct PRTO_(name), it would be appreciated (if you are releasing an update soon). The vast majority are good to go though. :)

For example; Leader, General and Marshal both have PRTO_General.
Partisan Leader and Engineer both have PRTO_Engineer.
Sugar and Cotton both have PRTO_Sugar.
Napolean and Emperor Napoleon both have PRTO_Napoleon.
Ship o the Line 1st Rate & British Ship o the Line 1st both have PRTO_SOTL.

I didn't go through them all... most look good. But it should be quick and easy to adjust in BIQ and PediaIcons. E.G. Leader can have PRTO_General01, General can have PRTO_General02, Marshal can have PRTO_General03... and just duplicate the ANIMNAME_ and PRTO_ entries in the pediaicons if they use same animations and PCX.

But for game to appropriately show individual distinct entries, upgrades, and unit values, usually this is needed (or it grabs first entry in BIQ all the time for all duplicate PRTO entries).

Only time I keep PRTO's the same, is if the multiple units are exactly identical in every aspect and they don't upgrade (except for very minor things like one being a king and one not, which the info can be added in the pedia entry).

Okay, there are units in the BIQ that have the same PRTO_ name. This doesn't work, because the units are different, and sometimes the game brings the right one up, and sometimes it doesn't. It's relevant to the pedia that each and every unit has it's own distinct PRTO_(name).

I'll try to explain each one so you can decide how to handle it.

For example; Leader, General and Marshal both have PRTO_General.

I have changed the Marshal to PRTO_FrenchMarshal and have already changed the pediaIcon txt file to reflect that change. I have also included a new unit folder named FrenchMarshal. This unit is also a leader and uses the Military leader names to name the units.

Partisan Leader and Engineer both have PRTO_Engineer.

This one is easy. Delete the Partsan Leader.

Sugar and Cotton both have PRTO_Sugar.
Napolean and Emperor Napoleon both have PRTO_Napoleon.
Ship o the Line 1st Rate & British Ship o the Line 1st both have PRTO_SOTL.

This is OK for the rest of the units as you descibe here. Regarding Napoleon and Emperor Napoleon, Emperor Napoleon is an upgrade for Napoleon. The same is true of Admiral Nelson and Lord Nelson.
