Native America Mod

Hey I am in my second tech era, and at war with the Incas because they went to war with the Navahjo, and this keeps crashing. Luckly it is auto saving but it is still anoying to have it crash every 3rd or 4th turn. Any way to fix this?

No way he can ID the problem with that description. What error message is it giving when it crashes?

no error message at all, I am just playing one moment, and the entire game shuts down and I am staring at my desk top the next.

Crashes aren't random, so there has to be a specific event or action triggering it. Is it happening when you switch to a city screen? When you make a new unit? When a specific wonder is completed? Identify the event causing it, and he can probably help you fix the problem.

it is always in the computer's turn. Other then that there is nothing I can see that is simmilar

nope last two times it was in my turn, once when I was moving a boat, the other when I was telling a worker to irrigate.

Hello,

This mod sounds great! I'll try it later tonight.

But I have a few question and I can't possible read through 37 pages of posts to find the answer.:

1.)As well as downloading the main files, do I have to download the v5.0 patch and v6.0 patch? both? just one? none?

2.)If I download the Music sound track, where do I save them and do they interfere with regular C3C games, or do they just play during the MOD?

3.)Does the current version of the Powerbar Trainer Utility work with this Mod?

1. To get rid of most of the errors, yes, please download both patches..

2. They play during the mod, similiar to the normal Conquest Scenerios. You can also use Musicmatch Jukebox to play them independantly of the mod. In order to do that, play the music with Musicmatch, go into Conquests and load the mod, and turn off the in-game music.

3. Not sure..I'm not familiar with that program

Oh, and I believe I've found the last error people...The mounted units(Savage, Savage Shooter etc) have a faulty ini file. Open up each's Ini file, and delete all references to sounds. Or you can correct the references so that they work in game.

well I restarted the game and it started to crash once again as soon as I entered the second tech age. It crashes as soon as I get Construction. The year of 680 is the same also. So I am assuming that it is either the age of tech or the year. The last time, I was halfway through the second tech age, but the year was simmilar 685.

the mounted units? Does that include the lama rider and the Dog Sled, and the cavalry?

Just checking which all units you consider mounted?

When I saw this mod I was thrilled, but then I heard all the negative talk about it. I wanted to download it and give it a try anyway and see if I could help make it a good mod.

So, here's my contribution. I noticed there were several units that cause crashes because their INI files are goofed up. Hopefully, I've fixed these particular problems.

Perhaps this can be added to the first post.

I don't think these files will extract to overwrite the correct files in the mod, so you need to extract them, then place each named INI file in that unit's unit folder in Native America\Art\Units. For example, place Savage.ini in the Savage unit folder. Say Yes to overwrite. Easy as that.

Thankyou Kraken, that saves me alot of time. I'd put it in the first page, but Unexisted is the one with that kind of power.

By the way, the Optional Music crashes the game if you have more than one error replaced with the new music. You can solve this problem by using Realjukebox or a similiar music program to create a playlist outside of Civ3.

Ok, all new fixes for the Native America Mod! This zip file includes my unit fixes. Here's the readme:

Unzip this file to your Native America scenario folder. Say yes to overwrite.

LIST OF FIXES:

*Lightened "counter" Diplomacy screen background for easier viewing.
*Added Silks resource icon.
*Added Cedar resource icon.
*Changed Bronze resource icon.
*Changed Cacao resource icon.
*Fixed minor graphic error on Wood resource icon.
*Added "luxuryicons_small" so luxuries would show properly in the city screen.
*Renamed "science_industrial" to "science_industrial_new" (which is what C3C uses) so that the tech arrows show up properly.
*Fixed several unit INI files so that they now work properly in-game.

These are basically graphics fixes, but they should make the game more enjoyable and seem a little more professional. :) This really is a great mod and I hope to provide more changes as time permits.
