Talk about this year's season here.

Well, we are only a couple of days into it but it looks like that Lebron James kid may have a future in basketball.

that's an understatement. I know it's early & i can't see him play here, but he seems to be be putting up Oscar Robertson type of numbers... game2: 21pts 13reb 8 ast

the lost art of shooting the basketball:

d. wade--11 of 39
c.anthony--9 of 30
m. banks--2 of 14
c. bosh--7 of 13

and acourse l. james 20 of 37.

james #'s are maybe a little better because of the teams he played, sac. and phx. run and gun ( no defense) teams. the announcers pointed this out, because it would give him confindence early. the opposite is anthony who has played 2 slow grinded it out teams and is struggling. the kids get by in college and high school on athletic ability alone. now their up against people with athletic ability and skills, it shows.

edit: 11/2/2003

l.james plays slow down team, go's 3-12 shooting
c. anthony plays run&gun kings, go's 9-14

the performaces of these kids is really going to depend on the opponents style of play

What's wrong with 7-13 shooting? That's over 50% Allen Iverson would kill for a FG% like that!

no, Shak would kill for 50 % !!!

wasn't saying his was bad, was just showing the various rookies and how MOST were struggling;)

it's a shame that the young US players seem to learn more about flashy passes & dunks then about fundamentals.

its called sportscenter

Lebron's numbers will go down. His lack of fundamentals is helping him now, as he's a wild card and the veterans don't know how to defend him. Wait half a season for teams to amass tape of him and they'll start shutting him down cold.

I like the way Shaq and Malone work :D

You should be liking Payton! He's the one that makes the Lakers offense click right now...

Payton rules of course. :D But I couldn't stop laughing about the way Malone just puts the ball in Shaq's hands, who dunks it saying a nice thank you at the same time :p

NO COMENT

Dallas is having a bad season start :(, unlike last year..

Although they beat San Antono yesterday :D [dance]

early season rookie of year canidates---j. hayes--playing so well that j. stackhouse may not get his job back when he returns from injury. t.j. ford has milwaukee with a winning record after they lost r. allen, s. cassell and g. payton.

acourse either l. james or c. anthony will win but they are not playing the best

anyone hear or have more info on the kenyon martin-alonzo mourning fight/almost fight? i guess mourning is so out of shape (he plays only 11 minutes a game) that he can't finish practice drills. k. martin was dogging on him about it ( remember martin DID not get the big contract rise because they spent the money on mourning) mourning responed about martin not playing with a sore ankle, aka--your a wuss, martin then went into about how mourning almost died from his kidney problems and he was an old used up man. mourning then went after him saying this old man was going to put him on his backside. teammates intervened.

'cause Alonzo Mourning retires. His kidney condition has worsened and he now needs a kidney transplant. One of the best centers of the last decade and a great competitor lost to the game... :(

Other news:
-The Magic's losing streak reaches 13...
-The Bulls' Cartwright is the second coach to be fired this year...
