Sounds perfect Krick. I absolutely want to highlight our UU, its one reason we chose this dude, right?

One request, make a Settler somewhere, maybe in the Cap since its pretty far from the border, and run it up to Amsterdam. When we take that city that is to the west of Amsterdam (if not you Krick, maybe one of the next 3 players will) raze it, and re-start it one tile south, on the coast. Stick a note up for us actually, Krick. Stupid AI and its lame 1-off cities, they suck so bad. No harbor, no Custom House, no Drydock, no Lighthouse.
 
You don't need Swords at all. Don't make any. If your Elephants can't handle it, your Axes will. Make more Cats instead of Swords. I'd like something like a 7 Cat stack for sieging here.
 
I am pretty much anti-sword at levels below Monarch anyway, the jump to Maces is just too close, and Axes make better offense/defense units.

Meanwhile, by Neapolis, we can't do anything because we're too weak to take it.

235: Qin asks for MC, and I give it to him, cuz I want him to be our friend. I was stupid not to take Neapolis in the beginning guys sorry. They now have an xbow and like a castle.

IMO we should tech/trade for machinery ASAP. Maces-Jumbos.
If not that then go Philosophy or Paper (good trade bait if we need anything. I'm not too worried about liberalism, it'll go 1400~ on noble I think.)

If JC gets longbows we need maces, though the jumbos take the slack nicely till then!

I'd like to throw the idea of the AP out there too. Trade for Mach and tech to Theo? With the Jewish and Buddist blocks emerging being in the AP camp is distict benifit, and the best way to garentee that with out the annoying anarchy for a conversion is to build the AP. Building it also gives us a pretty good chance of controling it.
 
Oh god I'm still thinking about how Neapolis had 100% defense. I'm so thankful I took it over.

Yeah a medic will help a lot. Maces are a must, though I think we can cut down his science by taking Ravenna.
 
JC has machinery, he may give it up for peace if we can take a city or two. If not, I agree we should tech it ourselves ASAP, as well as Feudalism, to be honest, because we need that to make Vassals eventually, something I was thinking we could do to Qin. Sulieman may also trade it to us, I think he was teching it when I turned it over, had over 20 turns IIRC, not postitive.

Really though, we are in awesome shape. Once we have adequate troops, get those specialists back working for techs.

Checked the tech screen and it appears Julius may be up for giving us machinery once we get him out of 'refuses to talk'

Next turn or so I was waiting for our troops to gather, notice krick was right on the money Suli stack advances on antium, if he takes antium this will help relieve pressure on ravenna.

Finally troops arrive at ravenna, an xbow pops up but shouldn't cause too much of a problem.

suicided a cat, then just cleaned up with ellies and axes. Arrgghhh an Axe loses with 87% odds on to win how annoying :mad: . We take Ravenna which e kept? Hope that as the plan. JC gets a GG at this point.

Okay so basically its come to end of my turnset, JC has just got fuedalism, and so have we, our stack is based in Ravenna, JC won't give us anything for peace, Suli is acting like a wimp! we have a settler and an axe to re-found the city that we razed.

I think I panicked a bit this round with our economy, and started building markets in a few cities? so feel free to change that in the next round, I've put a few scientists on in a few cities.

Even tho you said it wasn't a good idea to tecjh machinery with JC not offering it up and him having longbows I think we'd better get it. Possibly get peace tech machinery(9), upgrade our axes then finish JC? there is a spy waiting in Rome and I havn't created a mash unit yet, couldn't see any suitable applicants? so the GG we got is still waiting in Hari.

So... Peace or War?

we have 3x ellies 1x sword about 4 or 5 axes 1x cat but more on the way. This is off the top of my head but its something like that, I'm away from my computer at the moment so I can't check for sure.
