need help - are there any cheat codes for FfH scenarios

The game has crashed on me after I have pretty much won a long and difficult scenario on emperor level. (the 2nd of the FfH scenarios in the list, called "Mamur" or something)

My last save was made about 10 hours ago. I can't stand to replay these last 10 hours.

Frankly the last 4 hours or so were very boring - AI still had huge advantage in number of cities and units and it was attacking my border cities with the stacks of 20+ units, but I was slowly conquering his cities one by one using one stack of highly experienced troops/heroes/mages while defending the rest of my border cities with massed longbows transported by Nexus teleportation network.

Due to this unexpected end-game boredom I was tempted to abandon the game but I needed to finish this scenario to unlock the next one in line.

So are there any cheat codes in Civ4 or in FtF? I would prefer to cheat-win this scenario to read final background text, but if it is not possible I would settle for simply unlocking the next scenario.

Any help/suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Worldbuilder?

BTW, don't you have an autosave? Default is one pr. 5 turn (you can also alter this. Mine is autosave every turn keeping the last 20)

Open up WB and add to yourself some good units with matching promotions should do the trick. Okey you still must "cheat play" to win, but at least it is faster, it becomes even faster if you determine how to win and the remove AI units and add your units accordlingly.

The fastest way should be to convert the cities of your opponents with the Worldbuilder. Choose mapmode, then territory, then choose the territory type of your civilization and then make a click on every enemy city. That will take about half a minute not more.

The best cheat code for all things civ is as follows:

1. Complete a few accomplishments through several turns. It is important that you have autosave turned off and do not quicksave!

2. Hit ctrl-alt-del on your computer. Civ will still run in your ambient external memory cloud. Allow your computer to restart.

3. When the boot screen comes up, type "letY*&me*&WIN" FIVE TIMES IN A ROW. The case and characters are important. This must be done before the windows screen comes up.

4. When you reload civ and go back into the scenario, you should be where you left off, only in "god mode," which means that your units never die, and techs are at one quarter of their original cost.

5. If you did not enter god mode, you did something wrong. Repeat the above process, including playing several turns into the scenario and accomplishing at least some of the scenario goals, until god mode successfully activates.

Good luck!

Now I understand why Grigori are underpowered. The god mode cheat doesn't work. :(

Nice cheat. Should I be more alarmed that I tried it or that it actually works?

Stormbinder, go to the load game screen and look around the single player games directory until you find the autosave. Unless you've been playing other games there should be some turns within 15 minutes of your crash.

I know I may sound noobie, but How do you load up an auto save? do you just click on the "continue Game" or something?

You load it just like any other save.

If you look in the directory tree on the left, you'll see that a folder under saves called "Single". There's a subfolder under there called "Auto" where you should be able to find your save :D

Dayum, how do you play civ for 10 hours in a row? I didn't even play that much more than once every couple of weeks when I used to play WoW.

Dayum, how do you manage to play 10 hours straight and not save?!? :p I'm a neurotic saver - I don't trust the autosave, and save every couple of turns. My saved game folder is *checks* 600 MB.

I just wish I knew how to make the autosave save at every turn instead of every 4

Open the Civ4 ini file and find the line that says autosaves. Change the number from 5 to 1.

A. Autosave works unless you turn it off.

B. You do know you can rename saves as well as save over old saves. In other words, go into the save screen, rename the save to "Charlie_B" or something. Next time you save, just double click on the save named "Charlie_B" and you'll get a screen that asks if you want to overwrite the save. You delete the old information and the new information is saved.

C. If you don't want to use the above option, you can delete your old saved games. I delete mine on a regular basis so it doesn't get all cluttered.

Pre-girlfriend/ wife and children: No problem! Remember the few Saturdays I was alone and had nothing to do... I could sit down in the morning and "suddenly" it was dark outside and in the room :D Or that time I took my PC to a friend and started playing Diablo II in MP with him at 10PM. 12 hours later I had to get up from the coach to take a leak...

Yeah, I know this :) There even gets to a stage where you -have- to clear out the folder because when you've got too many saves in it you can't save any more (which is rather annoying, as the game acts as if it's made a save when it hasn't). However, I just stuck all the saves into a 'Copy of' folder and carried on. I like the ability to go back to earlier points in a game and see what would happen if I'd taken a different route. Probably 99.9% of my save games are useless now, but you never know ;)
