Need Help Civ 4 not working

I have installed civ 4 and all the menus work fine but when i try to start a game as soon as it get's down loading it brings me back to my desktop and a messages pops up saying "Windows detected and recovered from a device failure. Please reboot to restore full system functionality" I try to close the error and that works then when I try to go back to the game nothing happenes. and I have to restart my computer. Does anyone know what is going on?

Post your dxdiag an I'll have a look for you.

Click start, run, type dxdiag, click on save all information then attach it using the go advanced button below.

Ok, here it is.

First thing I'd do is update the video driver... yours are over 3 years old and if I'm reading the DxDiag correctly (which is my no means assured ), that driver only supports up to DirectX 8.

Ok, that worked, I'm so happy now that I can play civ. The graphics have to be turned down some but it's still civ, thanks guys for the help.
