Need help with game setup screen

Try to follow me here: When I try to start a new game over and over (in search of the good starting location), the game setup screen keeps reverting to the same setup that I don't want...world 70% water,barbarians raging, France starting Civ, etc. Thus I have to chang almost every option over and over again when starting a new game.... It used to not be this way, it used to just start up with whatever the last game started was. Please help this is so frustrating.

I'd say something is messing up your conquests.ini file. Or maybe it's a memory thing...

My ini file is virtually blank. This is all it has:

[Conquests]
PlayIntro=0


....that's it. would someone post what their .ini is supposed to say please

Just delete it. If the file doesn't exist, C3C will create it.

wow i am an idiot...

a few days ago when I was messing with the conquests biq file for changing colors and such I accidently set the conquests config file to read only.........yeah...problem solved...moving along now.

Little things like that drive you nuts, huh?

When I was playing D2, I bought a new computer with a cd burner on it. I would play at home, and burn my character, map and what not to cd to take it, um, 'elsewhere'. I would forget that it went to the new computer as read-only, and I couldn't figure out what was going on! It was because the files were keeping the cd-rom 'read-only' attribute..... drove me nuts!

Anyways, alls well that ends well, eh?
