Need testers for new editor

Might be nothing.. but it seems that changing the Barbarian tribes names under the Civilization tab (in the city list) and then saving; doesn't save that information. When I close out of your editor and open that BIQ back up, these barb tribe names are always back to the old names. I had to use the Firaxis editor to get them in... just thought I would let ya know! ;)

Hi Steph! I've been using the 0.8.2 version of your editor. I have the following problem: selecting any civilization on the races window results in an exception. Exception is thrown for any BIQ-s: I tried MEM and Anno Domini among others. Though this does not create anomalies and I could proceed with the modding, but it is tiresome to rebuff the modal dialog whenever you select a civ :) Maybe the problem is with my 4.0 framework version? I think it shouldn't be, but anyways...

Actually, it is 4.0. Its relatively new and I have it for educational purposes via academic license along with other microsoft tools. Do you think it can be a reverse compatibility issue?

The thing is I have both as 4.0 and 3.5 installed (VS2010 needed 4.0 and I already had 3.5). Istill have the issue though, so perhaps its more complicated than I first thought. Well I look into this matter and if I come up with a solution I will post it.

I get the same unhandled exception error as noted above after loading ANY scenario. When I do this, and click continue, the program acts like the the biq is empty. This used to work fine on my Vista laptop, but when that died I move to win7, and I think it might be part of the problem. .NET 3.5 is installed by default as a component, too.

Steph, if you don't mind, could you consider including an "export rules to [x number of files]" option? :)

Right now I'm using one file to edit the rules of my mod. When the changes are done, I open every other scenario (map) I have and import the rules of the single file. This takes a lot of time, especially since I'm using different files for ancient, medieval, industrial and modern start. If there was an option in the editor to export the rules to a list of files, instead having to open every single file individually and import the rules, that would save a LOT of time.

I imagine an option "Export rules". When you select it, you get a list of files (the *.biqs in your folder) that you can choose from, either single or multiple files. When you press "Export", the rules (ideally you can choose what rules to export, just like in the original editor) will be exported to all the other files.

Ok. Then I considered it and decided not to do it.
There are many dependencies between the different parts of the rules, the map, etc.
Too much risk of side effects. I don't have the time it would need to make it right.

I have Windows 7 and it works fine.
I'll probably release an updated version at the end of the month.

We'll see if it solves some problems here and there

Okay. I'm trying using older versions of the file, but they don't seem to be working either. Thanks.

EDIT: I switched back to version 7.10, and tested it on the conquests.biq. I am getting a message which states that the units32 and resources files are empty, which they most certainly are not.

I use 7.8 and it seems to be perfectly stable. Of course it has less features, but on the other hand it has the good-old tabbed design :)

I used to use 7.8, but I lost my copy of that version. I've tried to get it off Steph's website, but (as far as I know) I can only get as far back as 7.10 with creative url guessing :/

EDIT: Nevermind :)
