NEO NES LEGENDS : THE EDGE OF THE WORLD

Hello, several people have asked me to do another fantasy nes, and i will. however it will not be the same nes, it will have similar story, modified rules and a nice new map to go w. it.

So i want only the peeps that are really into fantasy nesing or those of the 'neo nes' cult uber-fans.

So first purpuse of this thread is to know how many willing players i will have.
the second one is what kind of culture you would prefer. (mostly european naval powers of the 1500's, not german-russian. or asian powers like china, japan or even korea). I cant let you have cultures of nations that couldnt possibly have made it to the new world (like hungarian or swiss).

And thats all, the nes will probably launch on new years eve, the reason is cus most will be gone in x-mas and i want to take the time to make this my finest nes ever.

The nes will be full of misteries and places to explore and discover, and other goodies. The nes winner will be determined not by who is the richest, most powerful or grandest empire. but who discovered more secrets, helped on the overall story line and had realistic actions throughout the nes.

well it has to be from the 1500's, persian civ has been remplaced by an islamic one. but you can always be a greek culture

Would you mind me taking the Kingdom of Thule?
This would be a germanic/nordic kingdom, based on an old myth, reaching back to the ancient greeks and germanics. It would stretch somewhere from Norway to the isles of Island, Faröer, Shetland or Orkney Islands.

am sorry, you have to be from the historical 1500's nations so it makes sense w/ the storyline. ill make an exeption and you can be a german culture nation (non-prussian).

(you cant be bavaria.....is kinda complicated fantasy nes, bavaria would need to have a fleet of some kind to have been able to survive)

ok, heres the short version of the starting story:

It is the 1500's, a new strain of the bubonic plague has sprung up in India and consumed entire regions quickly with a 100% mortality rate. in a few years the disease wiped out india and spread to the mid east, east asia, russia and eastern europe.
During this time high volcanic activity is being seen in eurasia and africa. It is eventually decided by those nations that can to evacuate the old world and follow viking-columbus rumors of a new world across the ocean, free and safe from the disease and the natural disasters. So ships full of people leave europe and asia.

Eventually these people land in a continent....... (not america )

There are mythic creatures from legends and classical literature in it. but not magic at all. (the creatures used in the nes are viewed as the result of biological process and not magic of any sort).

warman was on the original Legends nes, i am sure he can explain more about the 'fantasy' part of the nes.

you are to take the creatures you find in the wilderness and use them for a helpful purpuse, find ways of eliminating them and such.

That is like a 100% ripp off of your old NES

well it is, but the nes will start in a different map and the nations have been there for 50 years already to settle in.
