nero03 SID

Pink dot is not so good as a workers pump as the plains cow is only +1 fpt. And a granary there will take some time to build. Leptis Magna's granary can be rushed with a chop. We may also consider producing some 2-turn workers in the capital, but it is wastefull in terms of shields.

I don't think bikini babes can be used when you are fighting on the same landmass, But if we want to lure the defenders out we can just one city undefended. The AI won't move though if it fills threatened. I guess when we declare we should first kill the flood of AI units and then advance to their territory.

"Bikini babe" is a trick Handy900 used very effectively in his AW Sid game.

The idea is to use, say, a warrior who is dropped off to attract all the AI's forces to a spot. Generally the best spot can not be reached within two turns by the AI. You then plant your SoD where it will do its damage and the warrior is removed from the spot when he's at risk. He jumps on a galley and rinse and repeat.

 Good idea! I have used diversionary forces in some of my games, but it never occured to me to use just 1 warrior. Given the number of units we will be seeing in Sid this seems like a good tactic.

My thinking exactly. With cats, of course. The designated cat producers shouldn't have rax

Btw, Whomp in a deity arch old game I found I used bikini babe baiting a ton. It sucked cause I was playing the Zulu, so it was difficult to find a spot the impi's couldn't reach in one turn. But stacks of hundreds would empty out of cities.

lurker's comment: get an alliance with Byzantine vs. America or America vs. Byzantine so they suicide units against each other and both become weak. I would leave France out of the equation for fear that they will become even larger and more powerful.

Byzantines and America are already at war, so we won't have problems with that. France will be another story, especially once they get Musketeers.

There went our horses, our wheat, and any realistic chances for this game! To add insult to injury Istanbul finishes Temple of Artemis on the same turn.

Here is the position as of 1375BC:

Um, it was our biggest city, and I can see the research rate dropped. Not very good.

But I don't think L'Magna will be hard to get back. With a decent military, some cats, we'll be ably to take it. And the Ottomans won't be able to fight back once we capture it. [/dreaming] We don't have military! Hm...

Might be better t focus on byzantines first, looks like thay are losing to americans, could take the 2 closest cities, then get back at Ottomans.

OK, I will play my returning turns with the cities that are left. Agree on taking the 2 closest Byz cities before taking on the Ottomans (especially the one with the iron and cow). NM supported by cats can do the job. I recommend we raze and replace anything we capture, our culture is close to nill.

That is a drag.

I think nerovats has a good plan since that cow could be a start for another factory and there iron on the mountain and follow with the Ottos.

Remember I need a skip till Saturday so please move the save.

 to Obormot for his HOF Sid finish. Outstanding!

I think we should take the city back with archers immideately, the food bonus and horses are very important. I don't think we would have to face more than 3 reg spears there, and most propably it'll be 2 spears. I suggest to attack it with 6-7 archers without cats, we don't have to care about losses, but only about speed. The sooner we retake it, the better.

Theses tiny pangaea maps are 30% strategy and 70% luck.

Could take it first and leave 1 coastal city empty to lure the ottomans, make peace as soon as possible. This is ok when Ottomans make peace fast. Then head for the iron city. Prefer to get a couple of workers from Carthage before military.

So is it the team consensus is to go for an immediate recapture using archers? I can switch Utica to an archer, although I would prefer to have at least 1 NM for defense. I don't know how many units the AI will land with on Sid, so maybe I am being overly cautious. The Ottomans have Zeus, so we can expect some of those pesky AC to be in the mix.
