NESLife 2

Update 2:

Most creatures are spreading further. Psychic squirrels do particularly well, as they are still very successful hunters, can fly and reach new hunting grounds.

Crystal Reefs appear in the desert, and establish themselves there, though the climate is a bit too hot for them.

The Amoeba’s DNA had been affected by a space anomaly. It returns to normal now. The Amoeba’s lose their bite ability, and don’t have any real weapons, so it takes longer to subdue prey. This makes them a bit less effective as hunters.

Some Amoebas stray into the desert where they can sometimes eat the Hellplants. They try to eat the Crystal Reef’s too, but cannot break the Reef’s armour.

Luvmesheenes breed rapidly in Glacier #1 with no real predators and no competition for sunlight.

‘Nice sea’ zone was randomly reconfigured into ‘Nice forest’.

‘Yucky’ is now a stat you can evolve. It makes things taste disgusting, so less likely to be eaten (especially by predators with good smell sense)

thats it :)

Amoeba

Orders: 2 points into bite, bank the rest.

ORDERS:
4 points into living in temperate conditions.
1 point into trap
1 point into poison

The Morbius over time has begun to take root into the Nice Forest. As it does so it begins to adapt, and a new generation learns to live in termperate conditions. Meanwhile it has decided to try and gain a new way of catching prey to eat, the Morbius sprays out thin, yet strong strands of sticky silk to nearby trees, creating a net which will catch prey. It will then inject a poison that immobalizes its prey, allowing quick injestion.

Blazer
Evolution of Clazer- Trade Water habitat for land habitat. (+5 points, -5 points)

+2 Bite, +1 Carn, +1 Fly, +1 Sight

Looks like a Clazer, but lighter blue with some white and yellow. Also, wings and mouth are larger.

Essentially, some Clazers developed their gills into systems capable of extracting oxygen from the air. With this, they cut their ties with the sea and moved onto land.

Crystal Reefs
+1 to "Shock"*, +1 to Size, +1 to Photosynthesis

*Not an electrical attack, but moving the various reflective elements to blind nearby organisms to drive them off.

As the structural strength of the Cyrstal reef increased it was able to produce taller and thinner projections, capable of catching more light and even using it as a weapon. The taller Crystal reefs can now try to compete with the vascular plants on the plains.

@Iggy, why would an organism become more blue as it left the sea? ;)

@DaftPanzer

Bank my points for now. I'm going on vacation, so I may or may not be able to control my critters.

@Iggy, why would an organism become more blue as it left the sea?
Blend in with the Sky from below, land camo from above. I believe that's Messerschmitt colouration too.

FLYING SQUIRRELS!

- 2 into Bite, 2 into Fly, and 2 into Psych

r0x0r, thanks yous for the orders. Ill probably do another update later tonight.

BTW, meant to say, i really like the descriptions people wrote for the creatures, especially the flying squirrels :D

Update 3

Creatures continue to spread out, and begin compete with each other more.

In The Plains, the Amoebas evolve more powerful jaws, helping them tackle Hellplants and to gobble up Mutohamsters quicker. But they still cant compete with the Flying Squirrels and the new Blazers. Indeed, the Blazer is the first creature that can successfully hunt the Amoebas themselves. With their truly ferocious jaws, the Blazers can sometimes kill the Amoebas before getting caught in the slime. Also, the Blazer is the only creature able to crack through the armour of the Crystal Reefs. Though, as the Reefs evolve their ‘shock’ ability, the Blazers tend to go for easier targets.

Flying Squirrels continue to spread out and thrive. Their increasing psychic powers help to locate Mutohamsters underground or in dense vegetation. And the climbing ability means they can roost in the trees. This makes them the best hunters of Mutohamsters in forest or jungle terrain. Also, the Flying Squirrels can out-fly any other creature, which would make them the best at catching Goofbats in the air... Except, that they dont have very good sight for a fast-moving aerial chase. So the Blazer's excellent vision tends to hand them the advantage when it comes to hunting Goofbats.

Overall, it seems these two aerial predators will be tough competitors with each other.

The new Toughfish appear in the Blue sea, and begin to replace the local Octoblobs. Clazer’s mostly stick to eating other sea creatures. The Toughfish’s superior agility and armour makes them a more difficult meal. Also, the Toughfish spend most of their time on the sea floor, nibbling on sea plants. They don’t need to be near the surface for plankton, where the Clazer’s can get at them.

South Forest was randomly reconfigured into South Glacier. This made the large Mutohamster population unhappy. They began to decline and disperse into other areas. But Yetihamster numbers increased, which continued to provide food for some local Blazers and Flying Squirrels.

Morbius became more adaptable and spread further, even into the new glacier region. Their new net spinning ability helps them to occasionally trap and eat other animals. This is often an important source of food for the Morbius, as it is still too small to get much sunlight in jungle or forest.

Clukeslumbers are isolated in the Cold Sea, where nothing can eat them. They continue to thrive at the expense of other local filter-feeders.

Luvemsheenes also appeared in South Glacier and began to breed rapidly there. They also spread into The Plains. Most of the time, they avoid being eaten because of their yuckyness. But they do sometimes get attacked by more desperate predators. Also, the vegetarian Yetihamsters learned to nibble on the photosynthesising parts of the Luvemesheenes.

Nice update!

Amoeba orders: 4 points into hot, allowing us to spread into North Jungle and then into Nice Forest and Nice Jungle. Bank the last point.

What about my lovemachine?

i added them last time, and wrote this:

Anyway,

put 4 points into SPawn

I didn't see this while i was making the update. Ill include it next time, thanks :salute:

Just want to make sure you didn't miss my orders for next update above...

It's not like I need to do much diplomacy. :crazyeye:

Crystal Reefs
+2 to "Shock"*, +1 to Photosynthesis

The reflective blades of the crystal reefs have continued to develop in articulation (both speed and precision) and reflective ability, boosting the amount of light the reefs can harvest and allowing them to blind large predators and incinerate small and weak animals or motile plants that venture near (providing nutrients).

OMG! Chikorita? Where's the creativity?:p

No, I'm not a huge Pokemon fan. I just know it from SSBM.

Toughfish [3]

+1 to Swim, +1 into Armor, +1 into Sight

Continue evolving the armor into jointed plates to allow for easy movement. The eys will grow larger increasing vision as the front fins become more curvy to help with swimming.

Blazer Evolutions

+2 Sight, +1 Jaw, +1 Carnivore food efficiency, +1 Flight

As the evolutionary war with the flying squirrels rages on, the Blazers continue to evolve better and better sight and predatory capabilities, while continuing to trail their rivals' better flying capabilities.

If Psych goes high enough can it substitute for sight? I must know for my intricate orders! And Blazers, you should have stayed in the water! hehe
