Good and bad. Good because it will be published by someone. Good and Bad because it is being published by Infogrames it will be put out whether it is ready or not. Bad it got pushed back even further. ;)

hopefully it being pushed back means that infogreed won't rush it out half-assed and unfinished...
I seriously doubt that. It just means that there is now a serious release date as I don't see them backing it up again for something like not being done. :)

Perhaps NWN will be different with DM control, but even then, I suspect that there will be much that the system lacks. I probably still won't be able to fly or teleport. I also won't be able to use my magic missle to trigger a rockslide. And one of these days I'd like to be able to own a horse and crush some blighter's skull with my horseman's mace

You can actually make a magic missle trigger a rockslide. Just script it. The force in NWN will be the scripting system. Almost anything is possible. But no, flying, swimming, riding and climbing (unless scripted) aren't in - which sucks big time!

And i agree that nothing can beat PnP games

New stuff on www.neverwinternights.com . They now have a model viewer program and the beta release of the tool set for the DM!!!!! They released a working beta for making parts of the game, including making scripts before the game is even finished! It is simply amazing...now, why couldn't Firaxis produce a completed one at game release? ;)

Download the files from links on this page:
http://nwn.bioware.com/downloads/index.html
Also, the tool set is 200+ MB so have a fast connection or get getright :D

Oh, poor Firaxis, the butt of so many jokes. :D

I just signed up at Soda's fora, but unfortunately I used my palehorse76@civfanatics.net email address which I can not get to while at work so I cannot post yet!!!! :(

And to the magic missle.....they don't hit inanimate things (at least they didn't in 2e, I can't memeber about 3e).

MMs can hit anything you can see. How much damage they do is another matter - I'm not sure you could use it to trigger a rock slide because they have no force to them.

Sorry, this is OT. I really enjoyed BG (and have just started BG2) but nothing can compare with real role-playing - you just can't get the options in a computer game. In the end they are always going to major on the combat and the puzzle solving, so the character development is going to take a back seat. As for the pizza eating and gratuitous film quotes...

Good point Supernaut. Yeah, in 2e the MM would hit but since it caused no damage and had no effect on unliving material the rock slide would not be caused. I still haven't looked at the 3e rules.

Cool thing happened today. I got my 10 year old brother to play D&D 3e. He actually asked me to play. It all stemed from me yelling at my cat for playing with one of my dice. He asked me what it was for. When I told him he got all excited and we made up a character and played a bit. He made a Paladin. Longo the Paladin, avenging his family's death by killing all evil Goblins!! I am playing a 3 foot halfling Bard that is following him around to create great stories of Longo and his adventures. He is goign to be spending the entire summer over at my house....this could be fun!!:)

June 19th is the release date.
It is possible to pick up the game cheat book and the world builder book at a lot of store a this time.
The store where I go shopping said that they are not allowed to sell the World builder until the game is sold but they can sell the cheat book now. :crazyeye:

8 freaking hours!! WooHoo! This is almost as good as when Civ3 came out. :D

Got NWN and I like it. :) The single player is very good. I have not tried MP yet. Anyone else got it?

Just wait a couple of days PH... I should be able to get it before the weekend... I might get some time to play friday or saturday if you want to... I just can't wait anymore :D In fact, who knows, maybe I could try to the nearest store today :D

Edit: Well I just looked, and it seems it's not available yet... But the worst thing is the price... 85$ I'm not even sure I'm going to buy it anymore... I might just can't afford it :(

Is that $85 CAN? I bought it for $55 American which is 5 dollars more than normal, plus the thing is in one of those super small boxes.

Charge more give less box. Gotta love capitalsits!:D

Yes, I looked over a couple of sites, and it's definitely 85 bucks... Really good when you think that bioware is a Canadian company  I thought we would get some rebate because we're from the same country, but "no!"... Greedy capitalists ;)

I'll probably have to sue someone to buy that game!! Or maybe ask for money to my parents :D

Update : I won't get the game anytime soon... This dirty program doesn't support 3dfx cards, so I'll have to wait either for some new driver made by crazy guys that really want to play the game with their 3dfx card or to have the money to buy a new card... That means I'll have to see all those screenies, and all those people having fun playing the game while I wait for a new card
