New approach to acne

I'm 22 and I would of still had acne.
No soap, water or any cream helped.
Eventually I was given Rocaten- the ultimate anti-acne pill.
Now I have the face of a normal 22 year old :) (acne wise anyways-Overall, I still don't look very nice :( )

I couldn't find anything on Rocaten... what is it?

I use nothing special, but I am sure H&S runs down my face in the shower, followed by a tad conditioner, lots of hot water..

I spelled it wrong: it's "roaccutane" or "roche".
Anyways, it requires a doctor's perscription, and you must be at least 18/20 years old to use them, and they are only given to serious cases(or never ending cases such as myself- I am 22). The average teen won't be allowed to aquire them.
Also summer is a bad time to get them, as they will dry you out.

My mum always used to say that Tea Tree Oil cures all skin infections. I cannot say if that will work, but if you're desperate then I guess you will give anything a try :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_tree_oil said:
Tea tree oil is a yellow- or green-tinged essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous odour. It is extracted from the leaves of the tree Melaleuca alternifolia which is native to the northeast coast of New South Wales, Australia. The oil is claimed to have benefical cosmetic and medical properties (including antiseptic and antifungal action).

Preliminary scientific research (mainly in vitro) supports claims for various health benefits. Inhaled, tea tree oil is said to make breathing easier by "breaking up congestion". It supposedly can alleviate a sore throat and minimize the symptoms of cold, flu and systemic fungal infections. It seems effective against candidiasis and other vaginal infections and for hemorrhoids. As a bath additive it may control bacteria in spas and pools. It is used for fungal nail infections, athlete's foot, foul body odour, burning feet, etc. Massaging tea tree oil into the affected area may alleviate the discomfort of sore muscles or joint injuries. It also reduces hypertrophic scarring.

A patch test may be advisable before using items containing tea tree oil, since it can be allergenic and cause skin irritation or rash. Tea tree oil can also cause toxicity if ingested internally, and may result in dizziness, nausea and disorientation.

I think you dilute it.

I have a smidgeon of acne (I've posted my picture a few times, it should be noticeable) but if a slight scattering of a half-dozen red spots or so is enough to drive a girl off, then I doubt she's a very high-quality girl in the first place. So, I don't worry about it too much.

bo=benzoyl peroxide
I suggest using the Neutrogena one, it contains 2.5% BP, which is more mild than the 5% or 10% made by OXY.
I agree washing your face with just water will not do anything to improve your acne situation, I heard having lots of sex will make it go away. :p

Or is it just that the people who have a lot of sex tend not to have acne, as bad acne would be a detriment to sex?

Realize that it doesn't really matter. But then again if it only takes 5 minutes to wash your face then what the hell you might as well wash it.

I only get it on my forehead along a line where I wear my hat and on either side of my nose. All because of where I work at. A hot and stuff kitchen. oh and every now and then get some on my shoulders or something

I find that Omega-3 and silica tablets are as effective as the antibiotics, only they don't cause high blood pressure.

Omega 3 is just the latest fashion.
Now every yoghurt ad emphasizes it has lots of Omega 3-6-9 that will help the blood stream, while two years ago, they couldn't emphasize Vitamine B enough.
I've also been given advice to take in Omega 3 fish oil tablets that would presumably help against my Asperger syndrome, while for other it would help against depression.
Now acne...

This belief in Omega 3-6-9 is taking on magical proportions if you ask me.

Cut your hair, and replace pillow covers :p

Omega-3 oils are lacking from out processed diet because omega-3's cause foods to spoil faster (and thus removed). Vitamin B is also good and necesary stuff.

All these "fads" are simply pointing toward one thing: eat a balanced, healthy, natural diet.
