That's what experimental dll are for, isn't it? It's good to know that there can be potential problems, so it's reasonable to not include that in the next release without testing.

Not really no. Lots of tweaks happen without public experimental DLLs. Whoward and I messed with this a long time ago and modifications to TR duration can cause problems very easily.
Reminder that just because the code hasn’t been discussed before in the forum doesn’t mean changes have or have not been attempted by myself or others

I had it that way to protect against players who have prehistoric/enlightenment/future etc. eras enabled, as it could be potentially scale below zero. If you move it, that's fine, but protect against going below less than the loop minimum.

If you look at the PolicyAI.log, you'll see the valuation for the AI. If they're all valuing Branch1 way more than 0 or 2, that's a problem. If, however, it's the RNG selecting Branch 1 from the top 2 choices, it's not a problem.

Aren't those civs Progress flavored? Well at least Carthage, Ethiopia, and Byzantium. Russia leans all three and Egypt avoids Authority.
On Marathon I see most going Tradition/Authority with the occasional Progress (after the recent release).

I've had plenty of diversity in AI policy choices on Deity/standard/standard.
Which makes sense, as Deity is always top1 choice. Lower than that the RNG can fool you into thinking that the AI is over-favoring something.

Hence why I get annoyed by these "All AI favors X! HALP!" posts every patch. I swear everyone plays one game, some of them see 6/8 AI pick something and claim it's a bug.

Can't find the file. Do I need to enable something, surely?
Actually went 7 games on Marathon/Deity on the previous patch (didn't finish was just testing stuff) and no civ went Progress. None. Carthage going Tradition hurt my soul tbh.
Changes to Tradition were reverted and the typical Progress civs started picking Progress again.
It's not always an issue to be dismissed. In fact your experiences aren't always complete. Ever play Marathon? Some issues may rise there when they may not appear on Standard.
Sorry, but you are speaking out of ignorance on this. AI proclivity towards tradition had nothing to do with the tradition changes or the progress changes.
In general, it's a good idea to make sure you know what you are talking about re: the DLL before you challenge someone else's knowledge on it.

And experience speaks for nothing? I'm fairly certain I've played far more Marathon games than you have, especially given that you test everything on Standard.
This was a freak result inconsistent with any past experiences. 7 games in a row, starting on my first game in that previous patch and ending exactly with the next patch.
I'll repeat that Marathon/Huge may drive inconsistent behavior to that on Standard/Standard. It certainly does in many other aspects. If it's not the case here, that's fine. Just don't tell me I need to have background knowledge or to know who the developers here are. That's not my job.

If anything, I see tradition a bit under-represented -- but that makes sense, I think. Progress and Authority are both good in a lot of situations and Tradition requires, i think, specific circumstances to be good.
