God of Kings
Ruler of all heads of state
Lautaro of the Mapuche is practically confirmed.
Mapuche it is!
Hopefully the Inca and the Polynesians will come later.
Well, the initial guess was the right one. Happy to see the Mapuche. Sad there's nothing left to speculate about.
Horseman replacement. This is really the first that comes to mind for me. May it be ancient or Renaissance...Possible UUs:
Warrior replacement with "clava" club, a weapon unique to the Mapuche
Medic/Guru replacement with "Machi," Mapuche shaman/healers who have been reported on lately due to their gender-fluidity
Great General replacement with "Toqui," which would possibly allow units to gain experience faster or get science on kill due to the rapid warfare advancements Mapuche Toqui made when fighting the Spanish
Could be... apparently they utilized the tactic of "malon" to create chaos and raid Spanish settlements for resources, more horses, er... women according to Wikipedia.Horseman replacement. This is really the first that comes to mind for me. May it be ancient or Renaissance...
Lautaro could get eurekas for techs required to train the unit the Mapuche defeated.
That'd make for a cool Military policy card I think. Situationally very useful.Honestly, I wish that was a general rule.
Inca DLC with a scenario featuring the Mapuche would be cool. After researching them they seem like the best option for another Indigenous SA tribe other than the Muisca, which might be hard to pull off.I hope those disappointed with the Inca not showing up in R&F will cheer up when they are finally added....
Even if the Inca is the most famous Pre-Columbian South American "Civ" (largely due to being there when the Spanish arrived *, imagine if literate people encountered the Tiwanaku/Wari....), there's room for another one like the Mapuche.
*plus having the largest land empire in South America, among other things
