New Civ: Romania

i extracted Romania folder in sid meier's civilization IV/Beyond the Sword/Mods and i still cant get the romanian civ at custom games >if that's the place where i'm suppose to be able to play it< OTHERWISE=>i can't see any new mod that i can load to be able to play it.

have you activated modular loading?
if not then the mod wont work. You need to go to the CivilizationIV.ini file in the My Documaents/My Games/Beyond the Sword folder. Scroll down to the line that says
ModularLoading = 0
and change it to
ModularLoading = 1

then try to loading the game again. It should work then.

Hi Aranor. First thanks for the mod, it's great to be able to play with Romania. I've been playing Civ since Civ1 and I remember the old days when I've created by myself the romanian civilization for Civ2 :). Although I never published on the net it had a great feeling, although in order to exagerate things even more and make a mock of the past times I've had Ceausescu as leader :D.

Now, I have Civ 4 1.61 patched installed on my computer. I've downloaded your BTS modular civilization mod and I've placed it under CIV_INSTALATION_FOLDER/Mods . I've also editedd Civilization4.ini file to automatically load Romania mod in order to avoid the cache issue as instructed in the sticky post of Civilization thread.

Still Romania civilization doesn't appear on the list. I have to admit I didn't dug to much to see what's the problem and beeing lazy I thought to ask you guys for help ;).

I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance

ok thats weird. I have no idea whats going on, the only thing I can think of is that maybe the Civ.ini has reverted back to defaults (it does do that sometimes) and you cant load it. Otherwise I'm going to have to look deeper into it.

If it helps, some more details. When I start the game, Romania mod it seems is loading (the messages over the progress bar say something about loading Romania mod), and when the game loaded, and I'm in the main menu, there is a label in the top right of the screen : Romania.

I don't have the ModularLoading setting in Civilization4.ini, and I thought it's because i have Civ4 vanilla upgraded to 1.61.

I even tried to add this setting (ModularLoading) by hand in the ini file. Still no result.

When I say it's not working to choose Romania as playable faction means I choose Play Now from main menu, and then press ok, ok, ok until I get to choose a nation. In that screen Romania doesn't appear.

so are you running BtS or Vanilla civ? If it is Vanilla civ, then the modular Romania wont be recognised. But if its BtS then I have no idea whats going on.

I've installed another version of Romania nation (I followed the alternate download link from the 1st post of this thread). I've also upgraded to 1.74 vanilla. Romanian Kingdom appears fine in the list.

Unfortunately it's the "old" one, with Vanatori de Munte instead of Riflemans, and only with Cuza as leader. But I have to admit Cuza is looking excellent. Thanks a lot Aranor and congrats for a well done job.

Why do you have the flag of Andorra (except for the symbol on the yellow). Turn it so the lines are horizontal so should everything be right with the flag. It doesn't matter if the lines are small. It's just lines. ;)

I have a couple of changes in mind...

She is Queen Sandy (Based off of my girl friend Sanda, yes the Sanda who helped me make this mod )
Ok, that's fine and all... but how about some of the real, truly great and important leaders of Romania (as I am sure your Sandy will attest to, as my wife is Romanian and LOVES to tell me about them)...
Vlad Tepes (The actual guy, not the legend/vampire; this guy was amazingly powerful)
Mihai the Brave

Unique Unit...
Night Raiders (replaces knights) - these were the knights that Tepes would lead into nighttime raids on Ottoman camps (no small act even with today's night vision goggles, I can tell you...) to great success against overwhelming foes
*+50% vs gunpowder units
*+50% vs melee units
*3 movement

The flags of Romania and Andorra are identical except for the small symbol you reference.
My wife (romanian) and I discovered this when we stumbled upon the flag in Spain, and she thought it was hers, just to find out it was the Andorran consulate.

I have a totally flavored set for Romania, two flag styles, and a UU (Dorobanti) and UB you could use. Although I also have a module, so I guess it would kind of be pointless to just have two that were exactly the same.

I don't understand "flavored set"... I am a computer moron to some huge extent.
Um... do you mean you have a civ ready to rock and roll?
If so, could you post the link?
