New Computer... for civ4bts

I will be building a new computer in the next few weeks. But I need to know waht i should be looking for to play civ4bts. I currently run an AMD x2 4200 and 2 gig of DDR (1). I also use a 7900gs graphics card.

I was thinking about upgrading to an AMD phenom 2 x4 945 or 955 (I probably wont overclock due to paranoia LOL) get 4gig of DDR3 and later an ATI 4850. Would this be enough to play on huge maps or will I still need to get more power? (I cant stand waiting a minute to 5 for a turn like I have to do with standard maps on my current system)

the game's bottlenecks usually are
- RAM
- video RAM
- cpu

in this order - and note that it will only use one cpu - so multicores will only be negligibly faster than the same single-core.
yours sounds good - and should be faster than what you have.
