First, for Speer, you had two building which looked rather architectural, especially the 2nd, so I figured an architect.
Secondly, I looked at the first picture, and there was the red shield with the white cross on the newsstand, and I thought it looked like the shield that used to be on the centre of the Italian flag.

Image 1 has nothing to do with an architect- only with Friedensreich Hundertwasser .

Now wait - Hitler was Austrian painter of the same format :D . If only I could find the Austrian 'artist' meant with pic 2.....

Both pics 1 and 2 contain famous buildings which I am using to represent the city the stand in. So their cities are important, not the buildings themselves.
It's interesting that you noticed that shield, I didn't notice it. In fact, it is quite a big clue, because it is actually the coat of arms of the city which the building stands in.

The answer is neither an architect nor a painter...

@Ciceronian: is it a king?
...nor is it a king.
I don't want to narrow it down too far or it will become too easy. ;)

Ludwig Wittgenstein...

Yup, Adso has it! It is indeed Ludwig Wittgenstein.
Ludwig was born in Wien in 1889 (the picture is the Hundertwasserhaus in Wien). He attended the same school as Adolf Hitler, I've heard there is a picture showing them both but I have yet to find it on the internet. Wittgenstein published his famous work, the Tractatus Logico-Philsophicus while studying in Cambridge (pic3, Clare and King's College), where he died in 1951. One of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century, he steered philosophy in the direction of the close study of language. Read more about him here:

On to Adso de Fimnu!

Here's a picture of him:

Interesting thing about Wittgenstein: there's a theory that Hitler and he knew each other, and disliked one another. The theory goes so far as to claim Hitler based part of his anti-Semitic beliefs on his opinion of Wittgenstein...

Okay.
I'm looking for a famous historical person who can be related to these four images:

Thomas Crapper, mythical inventor of the flush toilet.

I also think #2 is Vivaldi. #3 could be a peacock, or maybe a turkey.

Ha! No...

I think #2 is Vivaldi, #3 I've never seen, and #4 could be any naval battle... looks like it might be the Spanish Armada though.
Yes, #2 is Vivaldi. #4 isn't the Spanish Armada - think much later: the picture depicts an event in the 1800s.

It's not important what sort of bird it is - the symbol is significant for its location. (Come to think of it, I don't even know what kind of bird it is...)

#4 is the burning of the frigate Philadelphia in Tripoli Harbor the night of February 16, 1804.

Correct. But it's the location that's more important. Though there is something important about the war in which that took place, I suppose.

I'll take a geuss its probely wrong but is it Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor.

No, sorry.
This one seems to be a bit more difficult than I expected (or perhaps Luceafarul just hasn't been here yet), so I'll give some clues:
This person was not from Europe.
Antonio Vivaldi wrote an opera about this person.
This person's tragic flaw was superstition.

Since the only Vivaldi opera I've ever heard of is Orlando Furioso, is it Orlando Furioso?

I'm afraid not.

Actually I haven't before today.
But I think I know it, even if I am unable to figure out what the fourth picture represents.
I suggest Moctezuma(Montezuma) II.
And might I add that this was a great quiz, and that you truly bring honour to your avatar! :hatsoff:
