You should try playing at Redscape, they resolve orders once a week!

It gives 4 days for diplomacy, which I think some people will appreciate.

Plus, I was (maybe still am) expecting to be rather -ahem- busy this weekend :D

:yeah:

All weekend? Um, yeah, sue me :king:

kittenOFchaos - I still want to know why we had 2 adjudications this turn; you haven't explained anything. please resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Well, the first adjudication had the German fleet going to nwy rather than the nwg that had been ordered. Ah, the difference between a "y" and a "g" ;)

kOc: Its is not the German readjudication that bothers me, it is the Russian:

Here is the first set of Russian orders (these look like the ones that always come from barron of ideas, the Russian player, since I GM'd him I recognize these as his style):

Russia:
Army Moscow to Norway
Fleet Sweden supports army St.Pete to Norway
Army Bohemia supports Army Tyrolia
Army Galacia to Rumania
Army Rumania to Bulgaria
Fleet Sevastopol to Black Sea

THESE are the next set, which look nothing like what barron orders:

Russia:
A stp - nwy
F swe s a stp - nwg
A boh s a trl
A gal - rum
A rum - bul
Fleet Sevastopol to Black Sea

The second set are nearly completely different in form - what gives?

Not to mention Army Moscow to Norway is an invalid move. . .
KoC, did you wrongly copy his move the first time, or did you let him change it?

Wrongly copy it by that stage.

He did allow him to change......

Dude, how would you know the chronology?

What happened in order:

People submitted moves, provisional and final.

I sent e-mail to Russian and Turk to look at what they've sent me.

Deadline comes - I resolve moves copying the Russian provisions across and not the corrected orders. Then with Stapels help I notice the problem with the German move and so have to re-adjudicate.

Did those changes arrive after the deadline? if so why were they accepted?

If you mean, did they slow down the game or course a re-adjudication - no, an error in applying the rules as written with regards to Germany caused the re-adjudication.

That the game wasn't adjusted on the night of the deadline was due to me going to bed at a reasonable time for work the next day, so that I can pay for my lifestyle, not to mention do my job well. When I got home, I adjusted it over a cup of tea and then adjusted it again when Stapel got on at me and I noticed my error with the German move and the copy/paste.

Thank god my innocent error/s didn't lead to bitterness and resentment ;)

I used whatever e-mails I had in front of me when I sat down to resolve it having come in from work.

Checking back on the date/times, it shows the Turks change to his provisional coming in at about 30 minutes past the deadline and the Russian as about 2 hours 30 minutes.

Why were they accepted? Cos those were orders in at the first time after the deadline I had to resolve them. If I'd held off on the deadline for them, then I could see a problem/favoritism. Hell, if it were favoritism, don't you think I'd be directing it towards people I have known at this club for ages and till now got on with?

:yeah: Newsflash! :yeah:

The Tsar suffers a stroke leaving him in a state of paralysis which also causes complete inactivity by Russian forces!
The Russian garrison in Norway is forced to trudge the long road back to friendly territory as the British Navy in combination with Royal Marine raids cut off their supplies!
The Austrians gain a vital victory with German help and dislodge the Italians from Trieste!
The Austrian Fleet in Bulgaria is trapped in port and sunk by the crews to avoid capture!
The Sultan in an opium induced daze along with the French Premier gives out orders to imaginary forces, whilst the French fleet in the Irish Sea wonder if the orders for the Fleet in Liverpool are for them!

P.S Stapel, if you could sent a group e-mail as to the orders format required for realpolitik, it would be appreciated.

Well, the Russian is in town, pity his orders missed the deadline and that I had resolved the turn by the time I went back to my mail inbox. But, at least it means Russia will be back in business :)

Iguess that answers that question about the worst that can happen...

What the hell's wrong with my realpolitik? I put the same orders in, (oh, and sorry for saying North instead of North Sea) and it automatically disbands the Russian unit in Norway. That's just not true. This has happened several times to me, a unit that must retreat is deleted from program. What gives?

And what's with all the invalid moves?
