New Forum Game: History Rewritten Development Thread

Also, its kinda funny how, I dunno, but how numerous times different people have said "why don't you join a lazy-nes or IOT?" and yet you continue on this game. They paused it because there was still problems. I personally feel that some players who didn't understand the period were ruining it more than players who just wanted to make it a better game. He was complaining about the general foolishness and the system that we had, that he felt was imperfect, which, to be honest, it is.

If it was up to me, IOT would go back to its roots, and be all writing, and none of this stats, but whatever.

And a cap on allies is not only unrealistic but from a game-play perspective dumb.
I don't join a Nes because I don't like how much power a GM has. They decide most of it for you, and when they are bias (which they almost always are), it creates an unfair result.

There is a reason that the first alliance based wars weren't until the 18th century. Alliances where rare in the medieval period.

Ilduce, can we just report further posts telling the game to not go forward? Its getting annoying.

And, is England getting Brown in the rest of the south?

This game is ill-advised. It starts from a point with people who are only casually familiar (if at all) with the time period in question, and a misconception that the problem with IOT is its stats. The problem is that there is no accountability, which ilduce, is why GMs in NEses are so powerful. There has to be accountability and some measure of realism or else you have people who shall remain unnamed making bombastic claims on the time period, switching their allegiance five times in an hour, and other such things. In an NES, these players would either be eaten alive by the nations around them. Call it self-correction if you want, but in a game with accountability and some measure of realism, ignorance and apathy gives birth to isolation.

@Lord of Elves- There is always a balance. For instance, if you don't allow spam, at all, every little thing is banned then everyone will end up banned. If, on the other hand, you allow as much spam as people want you'll have 1,000 pages real fast.

Balance is the key.

You've been browsing the NESing forum as of late, and I advise you to take a look at the A Brave New World NESing series, which is the longest-lasting NES so far, to see why and how NESing manages to avoid spam while maintaining a fluent and game-beneficial presence.

Here's the one to part II. Part I is out there, but it's buried deep in the depths of the forum's archives, as ABNW has been a multi-year NES.

Stop ruining the forum, please.

I'm afraid it's already too late. Recent events in IOT V have sent doubting individuals to look into it.

Some have, and some haven't. Some probably will stay, some probably won't. Can we not advertise is out like mad in every forum game thread? Let them play their game...

And therein lies the crux of the matter.

Wait, you want every forum gamer to go to NES?

No. No, God no. I was saying that this will fade into the conversation, considering that forum games is so frequented and bombarded with posts.

That does not mean you have to be an enabler.

I ask Lord of Elves to stop spamming the thread advertising his NES. This isn't a NES. This is a forum game. If you are going to complain, complain about the problems and how to fix them. And saying turn this into a NES doesn't cover it.

Spoiler :
I want to play where each individual has more power over his empire then the GM does. GM's are human, there far from perfect and as a result they are going to :):):):) up. They are going to favor one nation in a war because they like that nation more. And in the end, I just don't like nes as a result. There will be the occasional good one, as you pointed out, but there is to much pressure on the GM
