New Forum Game: History Rewritten Development Thread

Depending on how this pans out, you can count me as a strong possibility, also I feel there should be a Chinese starting NPC too.

Cool about you being potentially in!

As for China... I understand they would be worth inclusion, however, we decided no NPCs (Ilduce decided, I'm just updating you.) I think its the best thing.

All right if there no NPCs then disregard the China thing, how ever is there going to be any restrictions on where you can choose to start up in?

Those starting in brown territories with have a (small) advantage over those starting in white territories. The territories of NPC's I changed to brown, as well as added a few brown territories on the map. (I will update the map here when I have time (maybe tonight) but I wont promise anything). This encourages people to start in Europe and Asia.

IIRC you said the Natives would get less money each turn. While I'm ok with it, I do think eventually it should be able to be overcome.
This is a difficult question to answer. Technically yes, it is possible, but at the same time its not possible. The only ways it is possible is if the Europeans start trading with the natives, and help the natives improve there economy. Of course, if someone starts as native, it is possible for them to be just as powerful, tech etc, however the later they try to catch up, the harder it will be.
you love bumping threads

I think a certain tech should make them have the same abilities as Europe, some tech in the Renaissance (I don't know which one) should take away all their penalties. After all, IRL this is what would have happened if they lasted that long.

Thoughts?

the only disadvantage they have is a weaker economy at the beginning. If they manage to seal that gap. they will be just a powerful as the Europeans. Keep in mind thats IF they manage to seal that gap (it will be hard)

what I am trying to say is, they will have the same tech tree as the Europeans, but as they have a weaker starting economy, in theory, they will spend less money on tech and therefore will not be as advanced.

What I'm trying to say is:

Let's say the Natives get 1 GPT per territory instead of two. THere should be a technology that allows the natives to make two.

I think a better question should be what actually qualifies as a native and why is it specifically a disadvantage?

No, they start off with half the population. 1 population = 1 gpt. Thats how money works. If they manage to catch up, they will have equal economy.

A native is a country that starts in a white territory. A developed country is one that starts in the brown.

So, part of England is Native?

I thought just the Americas, South Africa, and Australia/Oceania were native.
