Hello everyone I was wondering what some of your idea's for UU's would be.

For America I propose a Blackhawk helicopter with 5 additional range and 3 troop capacity. The ony downside to this is it cannot trigger a Golden Age :(.

So how bout yall give it a shot?

BUMP!!!

what about a Thug. it can be West Oakland or New York's UU. :) ;)

u could create a Pimp as a custom unit. It would have an A.D.M of 3.1.2. it moves in a lowrider with Hrdrolics, and can do anything a worker can. :)

Do you mean a second UU for each civ, or new UUs that are for new civs?

How about?

England:
Longbowman (make the regular a Heavy Bowman)

Germany
U-Boat

Greece:
Trireme

Carthage:
Numidian Cavalry

Persia:
Mounted Archer

Spain:
Less Sucky Conquistador :p

China: Better attacking Gunman

Korea: Turtle ship the one in AOK

England: Spitfire (a ww2 airplane)

France: Dragoon

Rome: Crusader

Any other ideas??

Why would Rome get a Crusader?

yea wasnt rome more like the byzantine empire, who got DEFEATED in the crusadSE?

For China, either cheaper and weaker soldiers- to represent their massed hordes approach- or have extra units that don't need gold to support them- China has a long history of making the army pay for itself, taking the burden off of the national exchequer.

For the Russians, T-34/85 tank to match the German's Panzer. That or have the cossack units not need as much financial support- the Cossack's basically looked after themselves in return for not being serfs.

England would have to be Napoleonic era Riflemen. Some of the, if not the, best infantry of the period. Alternatives could be the Kings German Legion cavalry unit- since the British lot were mainly crap IIRC. That or seriously boost the advantages for the Man-O-War, 'cause most people I know onl;y build them to trigger GA's.

If Rome was to be considered Byzantine I would give them the Cataphract as a Knight replacement

But I wouldn't consider Rome and Byzantine as the same thing

The Persian should get a mounted Archer; either as a Horseman replacement representing Achaemenid cavalry, or a Muslim Middle Ages Kizilbash replacing the Knight.

Ottomans; a Janissary, being a 2/4/2 replacement for the Musketman.

The janissary was definitely a must. But I would rather add the janissary as a medieval man-at-arms instead of a musketman. I mean, their glory in wars relate back to the times when gunpowder was not mobilized on infantry yet...

I think a Mounted Archer would be a good idea for Persia

I was thinking of adding the Huns (M,E)

Their UU would be a Mounted Archer with the stats of 2.1.3

Do you think that would be balanced?
Or should I change the cost to 40 or 50?

How about a UU that is different with ages?

example: Japan's UU for the Industrial Age would be a Zero, replacing the Fighter.

Our word "thug" comes from the worshippers of the god Thugghi, the Thugs of India. They were a monsterous cult of wandering killers (travelling the highways in large packs, disguised), holding the country in such a grip of fear and silence that the British knew nothing of this secret society for some fifty years of occupation. They kept thousands of mass graves all over the country.

The Thug should have retreat ability...

EDIT: Incidentally, "Ferenghi" was the last leader of the Thugs. Maybe an Indian GL? Nah.

As an American, I can honestly say I'd like to see our UU be different, something naval, a Yankee Clipper or something of the like from the late 1800's when our navy/commercial ships introduced us to the global stage.

I don't ever recall a wooden sailing ship having bombed hospitals and embassies, based on bad intel...

Some great ideas here.
Louis XXIV's proposal of a German U-Boat is superb! As it would be hard to replace the Panzer (since it fits them, as well) - a second UU would be ideal. Still... a U-Boat would make good use of the often neglected submarine unit.

Yo Tiberc!! Yours is one of the best suggestions that I've seen on this forum. Maybe this has been covered before in a Civ-4 wish list, but I do agree that a UU for EACH Civ in EACH Age would greatly enhance the game and make it more 'culturally' interesting.

this would be a good UU, much better choice than the man-o-war (is that the actual name of the ship, or just a kind of ship design, cause ive never heard of it.)
i think that it would have betetr fighting stats than a normal fighter. maybe 6/2 nstead of 4/2. and it shoudl trigger a GA, ulike the f-15.
