ONLY WORKS WITH ENGLISH VERSION OF CIV 4 WARLORDS (BUILD 2.00)
A group of friends wanted to do a reenactment of the second world war and needed an Italian civ so I made one. I understand that an Italian Civ has already been made for Warlords by some veteran modders but found that all out only when I logged in now (a year since my last visit) to share my first ever mod with the community here. The civ I made has the following features:
2 leaders - Mussolini (Imp) and Garibaldi (Cha) No favorite civics yet
Plaza - replaces market (pretty imba unique building, gives 1 free merchant)
Bersaglieri - replace infantry (pretty imba infantrymen, start with commando)
The leaders:
The leaders only have one trait each because I'm still trying to find and justify another one. I basically copied catherine's traits so please don't mind if everything appears sloppy.
Everything is unskinned and Mussolini uses the same skin as Churchill; I hope no one is offended, the choice was made purely because I needed someone with an industrial-age look. I hope I won't be criticized for that. I fully understand the idelogical disparity between the two. I'm not much of an artist so everything is unskinned. I'm currently working out a civ icon, as well as replacing the leaderheads with static portraits.
Sprites and Sounds:
I'd really appreciate it if someone could point out a good 3d model that I could use for the Bersaglieri as well as an Italian voice set (I don't speak it unfortunately). The same goes for the plaza.
That's pretty much all there is to the 'mod', if it could be called that. I'm hoping your feedback and suggestions will make it a much more fun civ to play. I will be testing it on mp for the first time tomorrow and hope to draw results from that as well.
UU:
The choice of commando as a free upgrade for Bersaglieri was very simple to make. I wanted them viewed as rapid attacking infantry. I've never had a unit that went up to combat IV much less an entire stack so I decided to give them commando from the outset.
I would really appreciate it if you could take the time to try out the civ. To do so, please extract the contents of the rar file to the warlords folder. It will replace some files so you might want to look them up and make a copy just in case you want to be done with my version of Italy.
I will try and upload an updated version soon with better pedia descriptions, static leader portraits and a Civ Icon based on the Italian coat of arms. Until then, please bear with me.
Regards,
Muneeb Ahmed
