How come the great leaders are always missed out?
I remember when Stalin was the leader of Russia, ah the nostalgia.
Now it would probably to politically incorrect to use him, which is a shame, i want to see all these leaders in that game because they have had a great impact on the nation in quiestion, some examples:
Franco, Francisco (Spain)
Hitler, Adolf (Germany)
Stalin, Josef (Russia)
Caligula, Gajus Julius Caesar Germanicus (Rome)

I will probably mention more, but this is a start.

Stalin is going to be in the expansion pack.

I agree with Hitler and Stalin - both of those leaders made a huge impact on their country and the world. But can the same be said of Franco, over the course of hundreds (even thousands) of years?

In a sense, yes, he made Spain a very rich country and has at least made a huge impact on modern spain.

Why have Caligula as a roman Emperor?

A much better choice seems to be Augustus (included in the expansion) or Constantine.
Because he is unique, and he has made a lasting impression through history.

"Let them hate us, as long as they fear us."
-Caligula (Gaius Caesar)

Everyone is unique, and he is remembered in History as second to Nero when it comes to cruelty.
How many killed their pregnant sister? And appointed the winning track-horse as personal advisor?
How many roman emperors made temples in the city where the public sacrificed and celebrated him as a god?

Tiberius Claudius Nero would work in rome also, but i would prefer Caligula.

The 2nd person a great leader?
This man has caused the death of thousands of people.
He brought war all over the world, and you call him a great person?
History would be better without him and his weird ideas.

Great doesn't always mean good. Those were evil but influenced billions of people, therefore great, and should be included in the game.

BTW, history wouldn't be better without them - sooner or later some other "Hitler" or "Stalin" would be born. They were a lesson for mankind so that such atrocities will never happen again (which I am not sure of :()

As mentioned later, great doesnt mean good, and he did had a MAYOR influence on the course of the world, and germany.

Lets not get into this debate, the main Civ4 forum has us beat hands down at more then 10 pages.

I do have to agree with Olleus, Caligula is know for his depravity not because of any "Greatness" in a good or bad sense. Constantine had a huge impact on history by converting the Empire and was considered "Great" for that reason. Even Cincinatus (a common farmer apointed to be absolute dictor for 6 months) would be a better choice.

Its your mod and your time so feel free to do as you please, I just put my 2 cents in if anyone wishes to listen.

It's great to know what people think and wants to see, the reason why these are my choices, are because they most likely wont show up in any official expansion.

i personly think that cromwell sould by in the game agg/sipit or agg/fin

I like all the choices listed thus far, I don't understand why a lot of people get thier skirt ruffled at the mention of Hitler, was he a bad man, yes he was. Was he a great leader, define leader ... could he make a speech? You betcha, could he get millions to follow him? Yep and if you have followers then you are in fact a leader. What about Chin? What about Kahn? What about Stalin? What about Hirohito? All had million die at their orders. Just to name a few and you could list many more. This isn't politics it's a game and we all like to have new leaderheads to play or play against.
I'd like to see Khufu, Richard I, Tamerlane. What about Pol Pot or Idi Amin just set back and let them beat themself as they kill 100's of 1000's of their own people.
Great is a suggestive word, being a great leader doesn't make them a good, nice, warm and fuzzy leader, many thru history were villains as well as great leaders. Many in eras past got into power by killing their way there.
If I had the time and wherewithall I'd like to see a MOD with Great Generals. Wouldn't you like to pit Patton, MacAurther, Rommel and Montgomery against one another in any era?
Enough of my babble, more leaders are good in my book regardless of if they were a good person. Maybe we should call them great tactician as opposed to great leaders. Many were great tactician that met a greater one and lost. Others burned so bright they burnt out.

What I personally want is a leader that is Cre/Org. I'd vote Li Shimin, the founder of the Tang dynasty, as a potential candidate. And he has the benefit of being less than universally reviled!
