It's turn 70ish and they have 2 cities and not single tile improvement built! WOW!

EDIT: Had to take a glimpse... OMG! They have a MINUS 10 science penalty for having a money deficit. Never thought I'd ever see that tooltip. Now they have no money and almost no science. And their marvelous plan to overcome all this is building a wonder - because, you know, no maintenance! But it gives food! Just what you urgently need when you're already in negative health....
Firaxis should make all previewers take a basic civ competency exam before giving them a copy of a civ game. LOL
I don't know why people think they all need to be deep strategy articles instead of "hey readers, there's this new civ game coming out like you know and this is what it looks like."

Hmm... it's a rough call... the folks getting it are more or less professional game review people, but I do get the feeling that a lot of them aren't strategy people, and while they're doing their best, the Civ fans are all crying softly to ourselves while we watch.
You guys are just now noticing the sorry state of videogame "journalism?"
Since the Internet killed the decent gaming magazines (like Computer Gaming World), it's been very sad indeed. Only the hacks are left.
I get what you're saying but it's kind of like me getting a preview copy of some hot new RPG and then I start making my guy..
Hmm, the wizard hat looks cool - I'll be a wizard.
I think I'll put all my points into strength so I can get a big sword.
(fumble around trying to select a sword)
I guess wizard's can't use swords, oh well. I don't like spells so I'll grab this staff of casting because it has a cool red orb on the top.
Well, here we go guys.......
Is it a surprise everybody turns my video off?
The choice of whom received BE preview copies and under what pre-conditions has to be the one big goof that I fault Firaxis marketing with this time around. So far they have done a stellar job of getting word out to the fans and building suspense, but now it is a fumble where these Let's Play videos are concerned...
It is clear that enough work and imagination went into BE to justify the hype, so it is too bad about this aspect of the pre-release marketing campaign. BE deserves better.
The problem I see is that these poor LP's could hurt sales because it will make the game look a lot worse than it actually is to the casual observer.
