New loading screens are kinda disappointing

Unfortunately I neither have screenshots nor can upload them at this moment, but from what we've seen civ6 loading screens "look this is your civ and leader" are fairly unimpressive:
- one paragraph of generic introduction
- one paragraph of not very moving "oh Leader" leader-specific text
- generic blue menu background
- minor leader depiction

As opposed to civ5, with its
- unique and often quite long and epic civ-specific introductory text "oh Leader"
- also narrated with voice
- huge leader depiction...
- ...and beautiful stylized map of his empire in the background.

I am rather disappointed, on the other hand firaxis won't waste time and effort on doing introductory screens. What are your thoughts?

Totally agree with you. A bit underwhelming compared to Civ V. Same with the main home screen. I hope it's not final but would doubt it as we are so close to release....

That's the things which are usually finalized as late as possible, because they don't affect gameplay or even usability. It's a bit early to tell. Most of the UI things should be ready by the press build in the end of the month.

Yeah, I hope these are placeholders. So much effort has gone into the art and appearance that it seems weird that this part is subpar.

anyone got a link?

With my Samsung SSD and i7 6700 processor i dont plan to stick to loading screens all that long anyway :)

(upgraded my processor just for civ 6)

Tbh it could remain exactly as they are and i wouldnt care even 1s. They could have CiVI writen with paint as loading background i d still not care.

While is not that important, having nice ones, like in Civ V would be nice, for sure.
Maybe as was already said that will be changed as part of the finishing touches before release...

Probably one of my least favorite things in the entire game. Those things were the worst and forced me to mute my computer before I booted up a game of civ. I'll take them as short as possible if they have to return at all, thanks.

 This is definitely one of the things I care the least about. In V after initial novelty of what, about 5 game starts, I was pretty much always AFK one way or another during loading screens. I even muted the sound on those.

Yes so incredicbly cringe worthy. Not just the lines but the delivery too. But especially the lines! Always muted.

Indeed. Especially, if you decided to regenerate the map!

That having said, there is in fact another omission I am unhappy to see... not to see... whatever!
It's the absence of a "resume game" button that loads the latest save without the necessity to browse the save game folder.

I will miss the maps from Civ5, it seems like Civ6 doesn't even have them :(

My sentiments exactly. I couldn't care less about the loading screens when you boot up the game, but the maps when you start/continue a game were always fun to read. I like maps :) I'm weird like that.

Indeed, the writing on those was awkward and quite often factually wrong, and I can't think of more than five quotes that Civ5's narrator delivered with better than passable reading. Sean Bean should at least improve the delivery, at any rate, and I for one welcome shorter intro messages. I will miss full screen shots of the leader against the lovely maps, though. I haven't seen the Civ6 intro/loading screen--anyone have screenshots?

This playthrough from the press events a few months back has the game starting steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NETRAsAwU1Y&t=35

It is temporary voice acting as it isn't Sean Bean.

I don't believe any of the livestreams with builds newer than that one (multiple from gamescom, Germany and Norway/Spain) have included the set up.

Agreed- those opening screens didn't really do anything for me.

Hmm, now that I see it, looks fine to me. While I miss the hand-drawn map in the background, the rest looks fine to me.

I don't know, I rather liked the loading screens from V, helped me get into character.

That map background could easily be a temporary/default one to be replaced by civ-specific art.
