New Nike campaign in the US promoting Footie

The best were the 02 WC ads with the Elvis music and them playing in the hull of the ship.

That was one of the best ads ever, and Nike do a lot of great work on their ads.

To me the best was adidas' "Impossible is nothing" for Euro 2004. It wasn't particulary breathtaking or flashy, but there's just something cool about all those guys travelling in their vespas.

The best footie ad ever is of course the one from Adiddas during the World Cup 1998 : "La Victoire est en Nous" (Victory is inside us)... with the players from the French team.

Naervod, that kind of certainty you have in your words is really really annoying. I remember that the day France was in final of the World Cup in 1998, I was still convinced that the World Cup was reserved to a club of few chosen teams in which France didn't belong to. If there's something important about the World Cup, it is to remain humble towards it.

Then by your logic, you are annoyed by everyone who makes WC predictions...I also think that the Netherlands, Brazil, and probably an African team will win a World Cup in that time period. Does that annoy you too?

If the United States win the World Cup in Germany (which is still possible of course), I regret to say that it will be most likely thank to a Greek kind of play. I've seen the US team playing several time, and I'm sorry if that breaks anything about you but I've never been impressed by the players. The team play a very defensive football made about long balls and counters. The most important seems obviously to avoid the team in front to play. It's a lot more physical than technical. And I'm sorry but I don't want such a team to win the World Cup.

I never said the USA would win it this year specifically, and I certainly don't intend them too. And I'm sorry, but beating Portugal 3-2 in a World Cup game makes us a defensive team how? There were some games in CONCACAF that I admit were not the most beautiful games, but that is by no means the rule. I'm not sure which games you've watched, but if it was either of our last two games, 0-0 against Guatemala and 2-0 against Panama, then those are not the games to judge USA by as we played a reserve team so to speak. In games such as the one against Mexico where we won 2-0, if you saw the goal Beasley scored, that involved almost no physical play and just a good play and a nice, well-placed shot. It was good football. In fact, in the 2002 quarter-finals we were very unlucky not to get to the semis. We played much better than Germany and the only things that stopped us were a poor refereeing decision and Oliver Kahn. I find it hard to say we play bad football when we can largely outplay one of the top sides in the world. I'm not saying we are at the level of Brazil, Argentina, France, Holland, or any other teams of that caliber, and we probably would have to play a Greek style if we wanted to win it all, but I'm saying that's not how the USA operates all the time. I can see every US NT match, friendly or not, and I have watched almost all of the NT games for a few years now, so I think that I could say a bit more about the American style of soccer.

But why are you even there? Both have the same points and Mexico has better goal difference? why?

Because we have a better head-to-head record against you. So we didn't get top of CONCACAF by racking up goals against smaller teams like Guatemala (I won't say T&T because you lost 2-1), we got there by doing well against the better team and having a more consistent qualifying campaing.

As for the WC match, I have not a clue what incident you refer to.

Against T&T we lost because we didn't risk anything to prevent them from being booked or injured, we could haev easily won.
