NEW PBEM, my first one, v. 1,61

GAME IS FULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems it is not easy to find some PitBoss or PBEM game to join, so why not starting my own... I guess it is easy, but any advice to avoid mistakes would be appreciated.

It will be sth like this: (any suggestions?)
* Difficulty level: Noble (for all players)
* Map: Continents
* Size: Standard
* Climate: Temperate
* Sealevel: Medium
* Era: Ancient
* Speed: Normal
* Options: None
* Victory types permitted: All

8 human players, no AI. To make a game run smoothly, everybody should be able to play at least 1 turn a day. Game will probably last for a few years so I am expecting commitment to the end. Fight to the last soldier (maybe watch a "300" film, to add you some courage . If somebody will be unavailable for longer then 24h - like for holidays or sth - notification is required.

Whoever wants to play - send me e-mail or private message with:
- your data (user name, e-mail, city and country or time zone (GMT);
- choose a civ and leader (or random) and any customized civ info;
- password for your turn;
- SMTP server address (optional - I read some people have problems to set auto sending e-mail, but why not trying);

Excellent, first person - Elvis1985 - already wants to join. Come my friends (and foes too), and we should be running this game pretty soon...
I cannot understand one thing. Many people who sign for PBEMs choose random civilization. Why?! I thought in this kind of games everybody likes to play civ which suits him best. And every single move in the game is made carefully, to avoid any mistakes... Because that's not a game against stupid computer, or race on blazing! speed in ordinary mp. That's like some real challenge for me I hope it will be.
By the way, I'm middle class player, sth around prince/monarch difficulty on single player and I guess it would be best if people with some experience joined a game. I don't want to see somebody with one warrior defending his capital in middle ages... That's pathetic.

And about random civs - I think it will be fair for everybody if right after beginning the game everybody gets notified which civ you got - cause you'll know other players civs.

I do not have Warlords expansion, that's why I wrote it's v.1,61, cause I'm not really familliar with the meaning of "Vanilla Civ" . I assume it's just old good civ IV with any patch, yes?
In this case this game will run under VANILLA.

As I understand it Vanilla Civ is just plain old Civ with the latest patch. I just failed to spot the version number you put on your Title. I am sure it bodes well for my chances to win huh? Still looking forward to playing.

Can I join the PBEM game?
Random Civ.

I would like to know how many moves you intend to do each week and how patient you are. The reason I ask is I just had a game die out because one guy got too frustrated that we only got in a couple moves a week, the whole game fell apart after that. To me, I understand PBEM games are slow and I don't mind the wait.

Sure you can join! 1 more person needed. I hope everybody understands that game won't take just a few months... We are shooting for one turn/day but probably that will not be always possible. By the way - Deleatur give me your GMT, and everybody could tell what time it is usually possible for him to play (in GMT time to save me confusion) so we can put us in right order. I'll be back tomorrow, hope that by that time we have full game.

I was just joking There is no need to hurry and I think we can wait few days for eight competitor.
We got whole week off at university from friday (27.04) to next sunday (6.05) so I'm heading to my home city, where unfortunately I lack internet. Still, I'm pretty sure I will be able to keep playing 1 turn a day - just don't get pissed if I miss a day...
