New pitboss

I tried to play but of course I am now diplo locked from the original offer... There is only an hour on the clock too... Might be a good idea to extend the clock or if someone can jump in and either unpause or extend the timer would be much obliged.

Just for the note. I treat gifting city to the third party as bad sportsmanship. Let the things going like they are to be. Dont mess everything.

If it is inevitable kill and just finishing the deed, I would say go ahead. FF already said GG and he might not even be aware that the game was reloaded and he is needed to play.

Well, without the city gifting FF is going to last a little longer. While his defeat seems quite clear, one can always try to maximize attackers casualties. If he isn't going to play his last turns, maybe we should resign the civ to AI, it could at least whip more defenders to last cities if nothing else. I doubt we can find anyone to play these last turns of a dying civ.

But if no one has objections I could play the turn tonight to get this going.

Letting AI play is a very bad precedent. In some harmful situations it can be fair, but when the game develops it can change balance drastically. And dont want to find myself playing vs AIs.

If it is a single city left, AI or no wont change much. BTW, did anyone tried to PM FF?

Double moves are a flat cheat, and we all know it, but there has to be the caveat that you cannot allow an infinite turn because the losing player in a war simply declines to play their turn. It is fine to extend the clock but a double move has to be permitted if one party has just decided that they have had enough without bothering to tell anyone. It does happen.

Here is FF:s opinion on this matter earlier in the thread.

FF still has a couple of cities, not just one and wont be eliminated this turn.

I'm currently diplo-locked. How does it work when I'm in this situation? Can I play after someone else has unpaused?

yes, if someone unpauses for you, you can play as normal.

It's also possible to get around it with some luck.
Right before the diplo screen loads, you can hit the pause key yourself and un-pause the game. (works better on a slow computer)
Or just pound furiously on pause as the game loads and hope you get lucky. (the only real option if your game loads very quickly).
Either way, repeat until it works.

Yes somebody needs to unpause. Dont use diploscreen for communications...
People do actually make trades too...

They do but way less regularly. Spamming pause during loading is really bad idea because you can pause it back right after you finally unpause it.

When you are diplo-locked, there is no one around, you cant sit around for long to wait someone to unpause for you to play and the timer is low, do the following:

- Click on the option you prefer on the diplo-screen which is blocking you. Being it "accept" or "decline" or simply dismiss, but click one of the buttons for sure.
- nothing will change for you right now and you will be forced to ctrl-alt-del the game to get out, as the game will be still paused and you will be still blocked with this diplo-screen, but if someone who can unpause the game comes after you, even if you are not around, he can login and only unpause, then immediately pauses again and leave the game, the next time you login, the game will be still paused (so you dont miss the turn) but the diplo-screen will be gone (most probably taking in to account what was your choice - to accept or deny a deal you were proposed).
