Indeed I am, and it is a nice drop, but it is not readily available in most of my seedy dives, so I do not partake in it that often.
So, I edit my previous statement to include one or two Kilkennys a year.

Forget all the rest, Belgium has truely got the best beer, from very light white beer to the most heavy stuff you can imagine, my vote goes to Belgium.

P.S. Daez, where at in Munich? My wife is from Neuperlach... Pretty part of town, but WAY too far out on the underground.

Johanneskirchen, which is at the far NE end of Munich. Not much better than Neuperlach, or maybe not better at all ;) I'm used to it so I wouldn't know :p

Okay, look it, I'm as patriotic as anyone, but who's voting for Canada? We have some good micro-brews here, but we're not world class, sorry.

Now if you want to talk hockey... :D

It's definitely the Czech Republic - Pilsner Urquell from Plzen, original Budweiser from Ceske Budejovice - even ;) some of the Praha based brews like Staropramen are good. Also try some of the 'dark' lagers like Radagast if you're ever over there.

finally, someone who knows what he is talking about.:D

I voted for USA, so none of you can call me unpatriotic now :D

[Q]Again, I must point out that Steinlager was voted the World's best lager on more than one occasion. And the judges were being objective, too. [/Q]

Bloody oath, except i prefer DB Draught to every single beer in the world. They did win some international award..... i would tell you which one except i cant buy any here in Kalgoorlie without paying a ransom so i dont know the date! (its on the side of the can) so im stuck with bloody aussie beer untill i have enough money for nz beer!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not old enough to drink but from what I've tasted American and Scottish beers are the best. Although like I say only sips:D

It must be only sips if ye think American beer is among the best... :D
Either that, or your tastes are in urgent need of development.

As long as the beer in question is ice cold, and does not taste like cats p*ss, then it is alright by me - I am not very fussy in my choices in this respect; As I said, a draught will do me fine.
Effective, and not too expensive, unlike some of the imported beers, which retail for as much as a double scotch in some cases, and even more! Very inefficient use of resources...
On prefers a good, everyday beer that is economical enough for 8 to 10 imperial pints for lunch.

Denmark is obviously the best beer nation. I dont have many nice things to say about German beer though.....

I voted Australia, not because I'm patriotic - but because I'm Xenophobic!

Harp???
Well, for the guy/gal who says all beer is good beer; clearly you haven't tried Harp.
And what's wrong with Harp? I like the stuff.

Nah! sorry not my cup of tea, although working in bars I notice people in the north such as yourself will drink Harp, people in the south drink Carlsberg.

Although here in the Republic as I stated earlier on in the original thread that superseded this poll we have no real choice of beer to drink. It's just the big names on draught, with a few of the lesser well known imports available for take out. I feel positivly ashamed reading this thread and learning how little a choice we have in our pubs. Maybe it's different in the North. Does the breweries system work in the North, as in England?

 "Please explain?"
Xenophobic drinking habits; ye can't beat 'em! ;)
They've got pints of Coopers Sparkling Ale for the same price as a schooner at the Crown and Anchor at the moment.

The truly frightening thing about this forum is that not only is US beer listed...people have actually voted for it.

Why?

Coopers, Boags, Cascade...need I say more?

Admittedly though, those Irish seem to know a thing or two.
